Hi Jamie, could you do the thing with the hula hoop where you put in round one ankle then run along swinging it round your ankle and putting the other foot in and out of it? I was really fast up and down our street, it was brilliant fun. I'd probably seriously injure myself if I tried it now!
In the eighties I used to have what we called 'teabag' t-shirts. they had bits of mesh on them. Also, fluorescent socks were really cool at one time. My Mum once made me and my sister white jackets with batwing sleeves and buckles all the way up the front, very Duran Duran (or maybe more psych ward), we loved them! I'm not sure I'd bring any of these clothes back though!

Hey, I used to be a hula hoop champion too when I was 7!
Anyway, I miss the tartan skirts with the big fat pin through the front that I wore when I was around that age. Punk in an acceptable civilised disguise.

I would say a skipping rope (jump rope).
It was a rope used to pass under your feet and heads, as you jumped. You could use the rope alone or with a group of people. If you used the two ropes this was called double dutch, a popular game during the hip-hop seventies. There is used to be intense competitions with this game, there is a international group that still runs these - http://www.nationaldoubledutchleague.com/.
Mainly, skipping ropes/jump ropes are a popular toy within the playground, many children would make up rhymes to go with the styles of jumping, often performing tricks. I remember a particular rhyme that I sang as I skipping in my 80's pre-teen age 'One, two, buckle my shoe. Three, four, open the door. Five, six, Pick up sticks...' Its just a shame I can't remember the rest of it! It certainly was a great form of exercise, as we used it in gym class, too.
Skipping rope / jump rope is a still held within world-wide competitions and holding world records. Many countries, take part regularly in competiting, including britain, which has its very own association - http://www.brsa.org.uk/.
As, I mentioned earlier on, Skipping is a excellent form of exercise, particularly a good cardiovascular workout. Many boxers, would use the skipping rope for a form of aerobic exercise, strengthing arms and legs. The beauty about the skipping rope / jump rope is that any age can learn to skip, it takes little practice.
There are many different Skipping rope / Jumping rope techniques that you can learn. Here are a few of the ones:
Basic Jump - This is where both feet are stood slightly apart and jump at the same time over the rope.
Alternate foot jump - This style consists of using alternate feet to jump off the ground. This technique can be used to effectively double the number of skips per minute as compared to the basic jump.
Criss-cross - This method is similar to the basic jump with the only difference being that while jumping, your left hand goes to the right part of your body and vice versa for your right hand. Its a little bit more harder to learn this one.
Double skip - To perform a double skip, you need to jump up a bit higher than usual while swinging the rope twice over your head. It entails jumping once for every two skips. I can't do this one.

In the 1980s used to have some burgundy patent pixie boots. Pixie boots and proper stonewash jeans were ace, especially with a ponytail right up on the top of the head 'pineapple' style.
Also, from the 1990s, high heel trainers- sooo comfy when clubbing.
As for games- I always wanted a Mr Frostee but my mum said that it looked unhygenic and what was wrong with ice pops? (Ice pops ... mmmm). I also loved tetherball but we used to play a game where you whacked the ball around at someone and they had to dodge- like a cross between pub skittles and dodgeball.

I didn't used to wear my Hula Hoop, I tended to just play with it for a while! lol. But I am so glad the fashion has changed and now it's more colourful and creative. Its all good! Legwarmers were in a couple of years ago! Lets hope that shell-suits will never, ever come back in. I suffered with those in the late 80's. xx

hmmm - I think my answer should really be nothing!! But my tartan bomber jacket al a Bay City Rollers would be a worthy if fleeting returnee!! Also, Donkey Jackets were wonderfully warm but I dont know if that was purely a north east thing!! Now I think about it they were a lot like the miners jackets but without the dayglo bit on the back. How about thigh high socks - like knitted stockings? They were great for many reasons!! Although I really havent got the legs for it anymore - if indeed I ever did!!
There, is that enough??

My hula hoop was one of the five fave things I dragged everywhere with me, my hula was yellow, but I never managed to spin it round my waist, I could only spin it on my thighs.
There was also my space hopper (orange), my pogo stick(black/red), and my whirly thing (yellow). The whirly thing was a piece of plastic ribbed pipe that you swung round and round your head till it made a noise, the faster you spun it, the higher the pitch.
The best thing ever were my set of clackers(purple). They were two hard plastic balls on a piece of string that you clacked together (like newtons cradle). Don't think they would make a come back as they would be considered too dangerous unfortunately.
Can I have another?? I've just remembered, my Rubik's cube, never managed to finished it tho'. One of may aims before I die.

OMG...TWO questions from a 'celebrity'! You're really spoiling us!
When I was a kid I was never allowed a snorkel coat. Since I became an adult I'm rarely seen out of it. I'm like that little kid in East is East...
A lot of my favourite clothes have come back into style already (not necessarily a good thing). In the 80s I had a reversible jumper with 101 Dalmations on it that was pretty naff (but cost something stupid like £25). I'd like to see those come back into style so I can pee myself laughing at the stupid fashionistas...

I desperately want earmuffs to come back. I know they looked sad (and were supposedly invented by a child) but I've never known warm ears in winter since. Headphones just don't compare to sporting a pair of fluffy tigers or neon pink fun fur. Easily the best thing come out of the eighties, along with those knitted hoods known by many names including cowls and snoods.
