There are two last try cleaners that I have used on showers. Pool acid (muratic acid) can be wiped on glass and left for a couple of minutes and rinsed. I cannot stress enough how caustic this stuff is. It will eat off the lime and the skin from an ungloved hand and it can hurt your lungs if you breathe it. It will discolor metal so shield the hardware. I wipe and run and keep all fans going for a few minutes and then hold my breath and rinse. I might add that bleach, ammonia, oven cleaner, doesn't bother me at all.
The second cleaner is spray on oven cleaner. Shield the metal and give it a coat on dry glass. Five minutes later you will see this gray sludge coming off. Use your own judgement as to which of these methods will work or if you should even risk it. This is what I do for last chance only!

I used THE WORKS bottle on my shower door and windows and it worked very well... BUT!!! be very careful to not get it on the hinge of the door.
I didn't know so it got on the hinge and then it got stiff and wouldn't budge and I lived with a door that didn't work for 3 years until I had the whole shower replaced just because of the hinge because they didn't make that kind of hinge anymore. If it's the double door slidey kind, you should be safe, but if any metal touches metal is important to it's function, then I'd say to be careful to try to avoid that area.
I've tried other cleaners and I'm currently using shower curtain again, so I forget what else worked. After it's clean, I recommend putting on a layer of Lemon Oil. (from supermarket or Walmart) and that will keep it clean because oil and water don't mix and it will bead off.

The easiest way I have found to clean my shower doors is with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It may not remove everything on the first try, but use a few times after showering and your shower doors will be clean. I, too, have tried everything else and this is what worked.

I don't know how you will clean your shower glass, but I know that there is a better way, prevention.
Every time you use the shower squeegee all the surfaces down and then buff over with a hard dry cloth. I also treat my glass with a product called Rainex. This is sold in motor accessory shops like Halfords in UK. It is a product that is used on windscreens to stop water staying on them.

there's a product called C.L.R. on the market (calcium lime & rust remover ) that will do it, follow the instructions on the bottle, and wear gloves while using this, its acid. I read the answers before i gave mine and that product called ''Rainex'' sounds like a good preventitive for this, i'm going to try it !
