There's a Buddhist anecdote about a man searching
for the monastery. He comes to a river with no apparent
bridges in sight. So he yells to a Buddhist monk who is on the
other side. "How do I get to the other side of the river?".
The monk yells back, "you are on the other side".
You just had a Buddhist revelation.

I just wanted to see what you wanted to know and you are asking what do I think. Well, I think that you have seen a virtual reality film which leads you to grasp a larger view of the universe. Suddenly you don't know anymore which is which.

Yes, certainly, we are the aliens in the views of other aliens. Even on Earth, there is aliens visiters going to another country. For instance I am an alien when I visit America, because I have to write on the papers that I am French, that is "Alien"! Because I am not American. Don't laugh, this is very true.

So you have to be careful about the definition of the word "Alien".

Theres a big theory thats been going around for quite sometime that humans and most of the life on earth was created from an impact from a comet. The theory goes that microbes were frozen on the surface and deep inside the comet and then it collided with the earth and life started from there. I personally dont believe that that happened. Im a christian and believe that humans and all of life were created by our lord. Im also a marine scientist who has done a fair bit of study on the origins of life especially in the ocean. One big unknown is jupiters moon europa. Europa is about the same size as our moon. It is completely covered in ice. What scientists believe is that there could be a liquid ocean underneath that layer of ice. When we look at our own oceans no matter where we go we have found life. In area where the water pressure is 6,000 pounds per square inch we found life.

Around volcanically active vents where super heated water is being blown out at 400 degrees C there is life. So its very possible that life could exist on Europa. Im not talking about little green men with lasers, but rather microbial organisms.

NASA is hoping to find the answer to this question when they launch a probe to Europa in 2015. It will touchdown and either melt or drill through the ice where another probe will be launched when it hits liquid water.

I know a few theories.
One is that idea that humans and Earth are merely an experiment for alien lifeforms, explaining the 'abuductions' that odd people talk about.
The other is that by calculation our species along with others will evolve into what we consider alien now. So tall and gey with funny eyes.
Personally I think it's all gobbledegoop.

yes - and we seem to be striving more and more to be just like the perception of them too. Kids of today can 'touch text' long messages with just their thumbs at great speed, a new study has shown that a young baby can effectively communicate with sign language (this was on GMTV), the written language is abbreviated to symbols, children are being born less fertile (cloning will be big!) - and the design for "travel of the future" is very flying saucerish ... so yes definately "alien".

In terms of how inhabitants of other planets might see us - yes, we would be the "aliens". After all, THEY'VE been there the whole time ...

As to why our version of aliens looks somewhat humanoid - mankind likes to anthropomorphize (give human traits to) things. That includes human reasons for doing things, and human body types.

We don't always give them humanoid shapes - otherwise there'd never have been a "Blob", or a "Godzilla", or the Tribbles from Star Trek.

You raise an interesting question. In our search for alien intelligence we keep looking for them through our human prism of what they would look like. Sorta like us. Two arms, two legs. Within our size range. Arriving in craft that are analogous to ours. Using electromagnetic based communication systems.

Maybe if there were alien contact it would be in form that we wouldn't recognize. And maybe on a much smaller scale... say the virus level... Heck, they could have been coming and going for years. While we keep looking to the skies for big saucers and little gray men....

i'm constructive if I did a sprint prognosis i could discover countless specialists who agree on that project. i be attentive to for a certainty that there are various hundreds of specialists in drugs that don't think HIV motives AIDS. i be attentive to there are various specialists that don't think that any disease could be led to by potential of virus. looking countless scientists that are keen to question a view of something is oftentimes no longer that onerous. All you like is a small quantity of info to assist the assumption presented. ordinarily scientists are very keen to project maximum suggestions in the event that they have an employer argument to project with. it is the character of the sector to question complication-loose suggestions. So quit your stupid rambling and different than that some can help the assumption.

ok.. wait for the bible bashers in good ol us of a to have a heart attack but here goes... there is a school of thought that believes aliens came to this planet millions of years ago. The knock on effect
of this became the "spark" of life as we know it - evolution from water dwelling ameobas to the self gratifying fools we r today. You should check out ancient greek mythology with regards giants/heros/gods from space...... ok I know ppl will think am mad but am just passing on info...

Good point !!

Theres a theory that the most advanced physical form is a biped form like ourselves or very similar, due to gravitational effects from the planet(s) we inhabit. The theory suggests that advanced being from other planets 'will' be similar to ourselves in shape but their dimensions may differ.
