Depends on what country you are from. Certain countries are allowed tourist visas into the country without applying in advance. For example, Canadians can visit for up to 6 months and Americans for 3 months without applying for a visa. Check with the Korean embassy to find out for your specific country.

If you're just visiting for a few days, or even a few weeks, probably not.

I went there for five days a few years back; I didn't need a visa as an American. For most nationalities you probably don't need one, but it may be required for some.

Call the Korean embassy or nearest Korean consulate in your country, if you're not sure.
