I gained a pound since yesterday; but I ate healthy, and I didn't stuff myself (I was satisfied...if that helps any). But, I did drink 23oz of water in about 30 minutes (I was uncomfortable by that time). Could that have done it? Because my body retained the water???? If not, what could be wrong? I understand that your weight differs day to day; and all the other diet stuff. And that someone out there for some reason thinks I shouldn't be worried about my weight, but I don't want that to stop me. I don't want to end up the size of a pregnant whale when I'm 45. I don't want to even be considered 'over weight'-----or even 'endanger of being overweight'. So, from the bottom of my loving/caring heart, please help me....

Not only does your weight differ from day to day, it fluctuates all day long. Drinking the water probably made you gain that one pound. Remember though that each time you eat, you are going to put some weight on your body, usually ounces, but still. Its what your body does with the calories that is important. The water will be released when you go to the bathroom, as will the food after your body takes from it what it needs. My advice to you is to not stress over a pound, and quit obsessing over the scale. Weigh yourself once a week instead of daily. This method shows you better anyway, because it gives you a baseline that you can see change or unchange over time.

Wow.....relax....while it is not entirely healthy to be overweight, it is also not healthy to be so so so concerned with your weight that you obsess over a 1 pound gain in a day. It is probably water weight or the scale being slightly off etc. Go for a walk today and eat fruits and veggies....or some protein like tuna or a piece of broiled fish...you'll be fine....Don't be so hard on yourself there is nothing wrong.....

First of all, weighing yourself every day is not a good thing to do. It sounds as if it is starting to consume you already. Secondly, the average human being carries around an "extra" 5-10 pounds in waste (we have miles of intestines). Perhaps this is why you are experiencing *gasp* a one pound weight gain. Another possibility, if you are female, is water weight gain due to PMS.

Water weight can be tricky and misleading.
You need to concentrate on how your clothes fit, if they are getting tight then you need to lose weight. If they feel just right then you are doing what you need to do to maintain you weight.
Hope this helps.
