Buy those Cool Brew bags by Lipton, they're just as good, and so easy to make.
First put your sugar in the bottom of your container. (put as much as you would making kool-aid in that same container).
Put enough hot water to cover the sugar and disolve sugar FIRST!
For a gallon pitcher, put 3 Cool Brew bags,
For a half gallon, use 2.
Fill the pitcher up with cool water, and add the bags.
Let sit for about 15 minutes.
Pull the bags out and squeeze them into the pitcher.
DO NOT stir with the bags in the water, all the tea leaves will be in your tea.
Stir it up, and serve over ice.
Easy as pie!

I make my tea without using the stove at all, and it seems to have a milder, more pleasant taste. I use a one gallon picture filled 3/4 with water. I add three family sized tea bags to this, or nine of the smaller, single serving ones. I let it sit until the water becomes moderately dark, usually 4 hours or so...but I have soaked the tea bags for up to 24 hours before, too. Take the tea bags out and discard. Add 2 cups of cane sugar to the water and stir until dissolved (I'm a southerner...we like sweet tea). If you like your tea warm, heat up a serving in the microwave. If you like it iced, you're good to go as soon as you fetch a glass and fill it with cubes.

The best way to make Ice Tea is not by boiling tea bags, that makes the tea very bitter. The best way to make tea is to find a one gallon container. Use 1 cup of sugar 3 family size tea bags, cold water and place the container in the sun and let it steep until you get a uniform dark brown color in the container. If you let it steep too long it can get bitter but you will just have to use trial and error until you get the desired flavor you like. Hope that helps.

I would get an iced tea maker, but you can always boil the water beforehand and pour the water into a pitcher, about three quarters cup (3/4) of sugar and two regular sized tea bags. Mix and put it in the fridge until it's chilled.

Just make tea as you usually do in a pot and then you can let it cool before adding ice cubes. You can sweeten with Equal if you are on a diet or use sugar to stir in or sugar syrup. You can add some fresh mint leaves too or even some Bacardi white or dark rum, ha! ha! Enjoy!

Boil some water. After it boils, put your prefered flavor of tea bags in it. Turn the stove off. Cover the pot (with tea bags in it). Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Done! You can drink it hot, or cold.
