Right now im searching for meaning and purpose. I know i can find meaning by making it here on earth:however, I will never be satisfied unless i no or believe in some guiding force, i.e god, or aptly named Intelligent design. The world we live in is full of evils, and sorrow, I want to know that I have lived for a reason, and that I will enter a plain in which i have eternal happiness. I have researched both the athiest points, and the creationist points. So far I have ascertained nothing. It's clear to me that this universe can exist by both reasoning. I do have a strong emotional desire to find the creator, and to know that it has my interest at heart. Since i have yet to be able to determine which side is truth, im wondering if any of you know a way to test for god. To see if it is real. Please answere as best you can.

I tried to do the same thing. It never worked. After I gave up this happened to me.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

Friend you said you have try both Atheists & Creationists, & yet have not come up with an answer, Look at it this way, Can you see millions of stars & see nature in itself is prove of god, Why does the flower bloom in the spring & why does the trees bloom in the spring What holds up the stars, & the moon & this earth out there in space, Who can form a person inside a woman womb. The bible says I have known thee before I formed thee in the womb, What makes this body so fuctionable, Do you think atheists will even ask you these questions, No. Why does the sun come up & go down, what keeps this earth & spinning on it's own.Why do we have a Immuned system in our body, who or what put it there. Now you said you have tried boh sides, But you fail to read one verse. JOB 26:7 He stretcheth out of the north over the empty place & hangeth the earth upon NOTHING.

There is no such thing as a test for God. It specifically says in the bible to not test God. You either believe or you don't. That is why you are told to have faith. There is sorrow and pain because the people who cause it have chosen to cause it. Every action of another human being has a ripple effect . It hurts or helps those who are closest to the person first and then moves outward to affect people outside of their circle and so on. If everyone could realize this and think about what they do and say before it is done, there would be hope for peace among all. God remains impartial to all, as we have freewill. At the moment we were given freewill, the fall of Adam and Eve, he no longer walked among us to intervene on our behalf. It became our job to regulate our own actions. You cannot have it both ways..in other words, if God kept all the evil things or bad things from happening to people He would have to take away the ability think for ourselves. He cannot be policing everyone if He said you have a choice to make

Your attitude is very positive and if you can keep it you'll get to the truth. The strong emotional desire will make God show himself to you in HIS TIME be patient. There are 3 sources to discover an unseen truth: 1. A messenger from God 2. God's books
3. Science. I discovered God through His books and science since there are no messengers of God around. Start by reading the 3 main books of God Torah, Bible and Koran. I can tell you how you prove God exists through science mail me if you're interested.

I used to experience the same doubts as you. But I've grown to realise that whatever good deeds I do on earth aren't for the accumulation of credits/merits to enter through the gates of heaven. I have decided to do good and devote the rest of my life to serve mankind because I am touched by a beautiful person's love for me.

I have deep, altruistic admiration for this person because he puts others before himself, even at the eleventh hour of his life. And he's fully aware of the excruciating pain that he will be going through very soon but he spends his final hours washing others' feet. And these people weren't his elders; they were far inferior to him. Who could possibly endure so much pain yet think of only one thing, forgiveness towards those who have hurt him so much and hurled insults at him? I'm sure you know who I am talking about. Even if you think this person's a fictional character, wouldn't his acts have inspired you too? If a movie can inspire you, why can't his acts move you too?

God wants total obedience from his people. And when he says 'obedience', he means complete faith even if you can't see him or feel his presence.

I feel that even if (highly unlikely though) heaven and God doesn't exist, I know I have lived my life to the fullest because I have truly loved, laughed and learnt while I was still alive.

Just use your common sense man. Look at all the wonders in nature, and life itself. If you are an evolutionist, and believe man evolved from the apes, then where did the apes come from. In order to procreate a species, there must be at lease two members of that species to begin reproducing. Where did the original species members come from? From logic alone, you have to concede that there is a being far greater than this , who started it all. Whether you call Him God, or by any other name, He exists.

Ask your self how earth was created, ask your self how the solar system was created, ask your self how the universe was created, ask yourself how that answer to the 3rd question was created and ask yourself how the answer of the 4th was created and ask and ask... If you answered every question after question then congratulations you just proved that God doesn't exist. However, I think that after the 4th or 5th question you couldn't get anymore answers... Congratulations you just received you faith in God again. The knot has been untied a second time....
