Romance is love and love leads to a life long commitment, known as marriage. Romance and love also are the foundations for children and homes. So, why has romance died in our "civilized societies" in the western world? Are people who are making much money and experiencing freedom forgetting what love is?

Simply put, nowadays, some people just care about satisfying their bodily appitites, and can can less about love and mutual commitment, which is what God intended for man and woman.

Romance is not dead, it's just rare nowadays. One reason is a lack of time to thoroughly plan out something really over the top. But that does not mean one cannot do a small random act of kindness like writing a short note or getting flowers on a random day. If she or he is really the one, people can still make the effort. I don't think they are forgetting what love is. I think they just feel if it is done too often, it is no longer special. Or they lack time. I hope you find romance in your corner of the world.

Its like why can't we all resort back to the 50's as wholesome as it was. In my opinion we are driven by our media and driven by our cultural environment maybe getting back to the basics and not having 60 second dating or web cam sex showing this accepting this as a means for relationship
We have a gusto to show off and be well recognized as the ones who have it all want it all everything and anybody the world is our oyster and for the taking with limited recourse
versus
Life is to short appreciate the lil you do have and do not waste one valuable minute and a penny saved is a penny earned.
We get greedy marry sure but we made that money and well society says keep your money and well greed has become a huge obstacle for commited relationships
Very self absorbed attitudes one would like the family commitment but to many choices and too much acceptance and no boundaries

Because people are able to live without marriage and children. Fifty years ago, it was necessary for survival. Now the married have become the minority. The rest of us enjoy our freedom much more than the futilities of love, but we can't help but enjoy our sex, so we have it . . . with protection, of course. Also, romance is no longer the foundation for a home. The ability to afford one is. I, personally, would never get married and have a child if you paid me. I would make a terrible wife and mother, and I don't want to become one, either.

Romance isn't dead but at times it doesn't always seem like a priority, so I can see why you may think that. Especially in the chat rooms. It seems most males are looking for sex and they are very graphic about what they are looking for. Men what has happened to YOU????? Women want romance, not necessarily leading to marriage but treated with respect, lovingly. If you men would start off as gentlemen you probably would have a chance and get farther. Think about it.

The romance thing is so last season, people got emancipated, they don't have anymore time for romance, is hard to find a romantic person, some of us never know what romance is... so yes I'd say there's very easy to forget what love is.

It bothers me to admit, yet around sixteen, it extremely is all it extremely is approximately. intercourse, intercourse, intercourse. It annoyed me besides. i'm 19 precise now and that i'm with a guy related to the comparable age as I and our relationship is plenty extra. it extremely is fairytale, & it extremely is what all and sundry merits, we do make love, even if it extremely is not the only element on our minds, we spend days at the same time getting accessible going out with acquaintances and only doing specific issues for the different. he's between the main superb adult adult males I certainly have ever met, neither individuals are proper yet we extra healthy:) do no longer supply up on that fairytale romance thought, it extremely is going to come to you in case you wait (the toughest area!!!) There are actually not any adult adult males at age sixteen who think of approximately love extra suitable than intercourse.

i'm not sure, but honestly i kind of think people are just more selfish these days. it's all about "what can i get for myself?" and screw other people, whether it's at a job, at school, or in a relationship.

just look at the tv, all these greedy superficial people, whether it's on american idol, deal or no deal, or the bachelor.

because romance is hard to keep up for a long time. women stop dressing up and look nice and all the thing they did to get you. and men stop doing all the thing they did too. sucks huh?
