The only thing that I know that could unintentionally turn your hair green is if you spend a lot of time in a swimming pool, chlorine will turn hair green. I imagine hot tub water would be the same. There are special shampoos and conditioners to treat the problem.

If you have been swimming the reaction between chlorine and copper in the water can turn your hair green. The best thing to do is wash your hair in tomato juice.
If you haven't been swimming have you recently dyed your hair?
if you dye your hair from blonde to brown it will turn green, you can avoid this by adding a red tone (it doesn't need to be permanent it can be wash in wash out). However that is to prevent it turning green. If your hair is already green i would suggest a longer lasting or permanent one)
keeping your hair a normal colour is just like mixing paint colours
IF YOUR HAIR GOES GREEN ADD RED. (if you're blonde a golden blonde colour)
IF YOUR HAIR GOES ORANGE ADD BLUE
(blue tones are ashy colours so if you dye your hair blonde and it turns yellow or ginger add an ash blonde)

i dyed my hair blonde once, didn't like it, and dyed it darker again. that caused it to turn green. the only way around it was to see a professional. even she couldn't really fix it. she suggested stripping it, but my hair was so damaged already that we were afraid of what might happen to it. so she cut off the ends, and i went every couple weeks and she kept cutting the ends until it grew out. it was a pain, and slightly embarassing, but it was gone after about 2 mnths. good luck
