It is known, for a fact, that the apocrypha in the bible was "selected" by humans to show certain things...
so how can you be certain, that the bible is the message of God untampered, when it has been tampered by humans and reprocessed?
This is seperate from faith, mind you, ---faith in God is fine, but here, to claim absolute certainty is claiming absolute faith in HUMANS who handled the message of God through 2 millenia...
How can you have "faith" in humans? sometimes corrupt officials in the roman empire? who are no delivering the message to you?
You don't have faith when a guy tells you he will take care of your purse? or your car? right, or a bank---or advertisement...your naturally doubting---
so it makes sense, that doubting of the handling of the MOST sacred message in history by men.
It was handled by men and most probably re-interpreted and I cannot trust man, who is inherently sinful, in delivering to me the most sacred message of all time.

If you have some sort of intelligence you will not trust the words/actions of men to be the words/actions of God. If you lack intelligence you will believe that those men (that you know nothing or very little about) was acting on the behalf or God. That's also the reason why spam works, people buy anything as long as they want to believe.

Of New Testament extant manuscripts, the earliest go all the way back to around A.D. 130, though most are probably extant to the 3rd and 4th centuries. In any regard, this is remarkable. There is no other writing of antiquity where the copies are so close to the originals. Even standards that we think nothing about, like Plato, the extant copies of Plato are 1200 years after Plato's death. For the New Testament it is mere decades giving the New Testament an unheard of historical and documentary veracity.
Allow me to explain how the bible was proven to be inspired in the 3rd century, not the 15TH OR THE 21st., using the facts of history. There is a summary below.
The Bible is initially approached as any other ancient work. It is not, at first, presumed to be inspired. From textual criticism we are able to conclude that we have a text the accuracy of which is more certain than the accuracy of any other ancient work.
Next we take a look at what the Bible, considered merely as a history, tells us, focusing particularly on the New Testament, and more specifically the Gospels.
We examine the account contained therein of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Using what is in the Gospels themselves and what we find in extra-biblical writings from the early centuries,
We then take that and together with what we know of human nature (and what we can otherwise, from natural reason alone, know of divine nature), we conclude that either Jesus was just what he claimed to be—God—or he was crazy.
Further, Christ said he would found a Church. Both the Bible (still taken as merely a historical book, not yet as an inspired one) and other ancient works attest to the fact that Christ established a Church with the rudiments of what we see in the Catholic Church today—papacy, hierarchy, priesthood, sacraments, teaching authority, and, as a consequence of the last, infallibility.
Christ’s Church, to do what he said it would do, had to have the character of doctrinal infallibility.
We have thus taken purely historical material and concluded that a Church exists, namely, the Catholic Church, which is divinely protected against teaching doctrinal error. Now we are at the last premise of the argument.
This Catholic Church tells us the
(2)Bible is inspired, and we can take the Church’s word for it precisely because the
(1)Church is infallible.
Only after having been told by a properly constituted authority—
(1)that is, one established by God to assure us of the truth concerning matters of faith—
(2)that the Bible is inspired can we reasonably begin to use it as an inspired book.
Dizzy? This SUMMARY of a summary should clarify:
1) On the first level we argue to the reliability of the Bible insofar as it is history.
2) From that we conclude that an infallible Church was founded.
3) And then we take the word of that infallible Church that the Bible is inspired.
4) This is not a circular argument because the final conclusion (the Bible is inspired) is not simply a restatement of its initial finding (the Bible is historically reliable),
5) and its initial finding (the Bible is historically reliable) is in no way based on the final conclusion (the Bible is inspired).
What I have demonstrated is that without the existence of the Church, we could never know whether the Bible is inspired.

Hi, this is a much asked question that despite the answer, will continue to be asked when people will not be content with the truth(no offence intended to yourself).
the church in it`s history has always been very careful about what is or isn`t authentic scripture, there have been many incidences of falsifying scripture by Jewish sects to discredit the 4 Gospels, and the early church discovered these fake writings to be the work of Talmud Jews in particular.
we can be very assured of the accuracy of our modern scripture because the church also had an excellent tradition that supported the Bible and especially the New Testament writings, many learned and holy scholars spent their lives studying every line and sentence and would not have dared change anything so sacred, early church councils met and the greatest minds of the time were able to spot the fraudulent scriptures and with wisdom and discernment have preserved the authentic.

God communicates his will and purposes to us through His weak and often wayward children. He speaks to us through the bible, in the bible, by the bible, even though the men who formed it and translated it, etc are just as human as you and I. But I believe God overshadowed the writers, God directed their pens, etc so we do have a reliable and inspired document today....
