Pecans are very good for sweet potato casseroles

brown sugar is better

this is my favorite recipe.....brown sugar and pecans.......yum yum yum...smile..


SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE

1 1/2 cans sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
3/4 c. white sugar
1 stick melted butter
1/2 c. canned milk

Mix all above ingredients together and put in a lightly greased casserole.

TOPPING:

1/3 c. softened butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. brown sugar
enough mini marshmellows to cover the top

Mix ingredients together and spread on top of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.The marshmellows should be a nice golden brown and the caserole should be hot and bubbly. This casserole may be made the day before and put in refrigerator.

in a casserole dish
layer cut-up cooked yams or sweet potato
Start with the potato
sprinkle crushed walnuts
sprinkle brown sugar
dot with butter all over
start the next layer
continue til you run out
bake at 350 for 1 hour
15 mins before done
sprinkle tiny marshmellows all over top
continue to cook until marshmellows are light brown
I make mine the night before
and heat up in over for 1/2 hour at 350
make sure you cover with foil when heating up
don't scrimp on the butter or walnuts
yummmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
