Tee hee...yes sometimes you wonder how God can "let things happen" but he gives us the free will to destroy each other and ourselves with concentration camps, fast food & cellphones. He gives us the chance to choose good or evil & then hopes we make the right choice. What's the alternative? If he intervenes then we're just his puppets. He wants us to move around on our own. Like a little antfarm. :)
He does love us. He just gives us our space. That's what life is. It's ours to make with it whatever we choose.
I used to love the Depeche Mode song "Blasphemous Rumours" -- "I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours but I think that God's got a sick sense of humour & when I die I expect to find him laughing..." Sometimes it's hard not to be bitter when we're suffering. When you look at the Bible, God had a bit of a temper too. Floods, pestilence. Like He's sitting up there saying "Take that! Ha! Who's your daddy now?" I used to think of God as the tyrannical father & Jesus as the sweet, hippie rebel Son. I love God. I don't think He's sadistic. I think it's just tough love. We are responsible for our own choices. We have to make the best of it.
Peace out!
:)

God made man in his image, right? So, if man has the potential to be so cruel that means that God does, too. Or are people saying that the great and all-powerful God accidentally created something imperfect? "Oh dear, my hand slipped and I gave mankind an evil streak!"

What does Mcdonald's and mobile phones have to do with God being a sadist?
How do people come up with such blatantly stupid ideas?

Well, there's no such thing as god. Apart from that, on a scale of badness, I hardly think Auschwitz and Macdonalds are equal ills.

I just love it when someone blames God for things that people do.
No offense, but it's just a bit ridiculous.

No. Overall, life is quite good. Otherwise we would have all killed ourselves.
