If it is still at the rough opening stage, that is, there are no trim boards covering up the construction around the door, you might purchase a prehung door and install it yourself. I would say you'd have to be moderately handy to do this.

In the United States, the most you should pay for a joiner, or carpenter, is $75 an hour. In many places, it could be as little as $25 an hour.

Figure one hour for a prehung door, two hours for a door that must be attached to existing framework.

You will be charged for a single indoor door about $100-150 + the cost of the door, so about 200 or so bucks. The price, however, is contigent upon whether you are hanging a slab door, which has to be mortised and cut for the knob and locking mechanism, or whether you are hanging frame and all. Frankly, I find it easier to remove the whole door frame and install a new door completely rather than trying to fit a door. It took me two days to fit 14 door slabs at $40 per hour.

Whether stripping or not, a well hung back door can be joined by nailing, screwing, or pounding- If you want it to be permanent, there are few states that allow that type of marriage

Depends if it needs a jam, but it shouldn't take any longer, then an hour to install the hinges & set the lock, may be two hours if it needs a jam installed & squared up. about $50 dollars or less Canadian.
