I've hinted and I don't think he hasn't recieved them. My friend cross-examined him and she said he chose me over another girl, but I still don't know if he likes me. How can I ask?
And please don't tell me "just try", I'm really shy.

sorry but that is the answer, you have to fight that shyness and be bold. it doesn't have to come out as forceful. Maybe your hints were too subtle. Just casually mention, 'i really like you,' and just go on with the conversation. it doesn't have to focus on that issue. just be calm.

Guys really don't take hints all that well. It's hard for guys to see through the things that girls say. Just try to get alone with him and see how he treats you then. Take it slow and easy. He will get it eventually. Guys know when a girl flirts with them. I think. I don't know just keep flirting with him. Now you got me confused. What a night. I'm going to bed!

Create a scenario where either of you are forced to go out on a date, ask your friends for help if needed. Or just keep hinting, he can't be that dense. (unless he's shy, then you might have to make the move).

My dear, if he is truly worth it, then you must overcome your fear and be honest with him. If he rejects you, the you have your answer and are free to search for someone else, which may not be such a bad thing. It is a cycle, the worst missing a good opportunity to be with someone.

Take a chance, no matter the turn out, it will make you stringer!

Boys aren't very fussy. He'll go out with whoever asks him first.
