You've apparently been led astray. Pancreatitis is usually an illness which comes as a result of long term overdrinking. (It can also come from a gallstone, my father's cause). However, whichever way you got it, and no matter how minor the attack, you may not EVER drink alcohol again. Your body now lacks the ability to regularly break down the alcohol. Sure, it'll work this time and that, but one day soon it won't -- and you'll have a massive pancreatitis attack and die.

Now, see, I don't believe in mincing words. Instead, I prefer to let you know the truth. You will die. You are not to drink any alcohol, not ever when the peers are imbibing. Instead, you sit there with your bottle of water and say "Mmmmm!" Because tomorrow you will be alive. And life should be something you regard as more improtant than feeling a little groovy or social every now and again. If you need groovy, go for lighting up a joint. That won't kill your pancreas ...

Don't let anyone tell you how much to drink. If you want to knock off your pancreas with the occasional drink, and die young, then go for it.
My uncle had pancreatitis, and only had one beer a week after diagnosis because he thought htat that would be OK.
He lasted for two years, in and out of hospital before dying a miserable death.

But you make up your own mind, by all means.

You should not consume alcohole at all. Your problem is mostly due to alcohole. Avoid and see the result. If you continue alcohole further there is danger of CANCER of pancreas and there is hardly any treatment for it.

Sounds like longviewcyclist said it best. Get help if you need it. You should be focused on healing instead of when you can have your first binge. The next time could kill you. Good luck and best wishes.
