You raise a good point, but I imagine the questioner is just "brainstorming", trying to come up with something they had not thought of. They are hoping someone will come up with an unusual idea.

Well sometimes random people have really good ideas! There is bound to be someone out there with similar interests to your brother, sister etc. Maybe they know something that u would never think of- nothing wrong with asking surely?

Well they are really just searching for ideas... Going shopping can be overwhelming to many people... Who knows someone may mention something you didn't think of... and you never know what people will tell you on here... They will give you an extra long idea list...

maybe someone elses idea really does help but they aren't putting any thought into it ,my husband loved his evil knievel bike when he was a kid and ive found they have them out again in woolworths so its top of my list to buy him he's 36 and i know he will be delighted but that does not mean everyones husband will love it. me im looking a coffee maker with a milk steamer it is the milk steamer i want to make milky coffees yum lol but that doesnt mean everyone wants one either .!!

I know - it really pee's me off as well. I got so fed up that I answered one of the questions saying just that 'How the hell would we know coz we dont know your boyfriend' and I got a violation for it and lost 12 points xxx

well, obviously they dont know either, so want some creative ideas,,,,, it does get difficult sometimes, if you really dont know of what a person might want or like,,, my daughter still lives with me, in college, and im still racking my brain lol
