Hello,
I don’t know exactly what you have in mind but I will try to answer this
1) If you are worried that you have bowel cancer because you have bowel symptoms then the answer is:
Yes you can have bowel cancer and put on weight – loosing weight, however, is a bad sign as it may indicate that bowel cancer is in advanced stage.
2) If you had treatment for bowel cancer and you put on weight- this is usually a good sign

Hope that helps.

Hi there
My dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2000...
At first he lost weight and didnt look so good...He had treament and had the cancerous tumour removed and ended up putting on almost twice as much as he lost!!

He now has a balanced diet and is in remission only after he got secondary bowel cancer and lung cancer too!!
But im proud to say he quit smoking when he found out he had lung cancer!! (doofus i know lol)

Take care & Good luck

Yes you definitely can. The tumour often creates a blockage and the weight gain is because of the colon not emptying.

I hope you don't have one.

If you think there is any chance you could have bowel cancer, go to the doctor ASAP. The longer you put it off, the more the tumor grows.
