I don't find it curious at all. Non-pagans object greatly to pagans and when someone posts an answer that shows pagans in a positive light, or one that shows that pagans are educated, intelligent and insightful, non-pagans will react to such things with antagonism. It is an odd thing people fear pagans becasue they do not understand pagan beliefs. However, they do not WANT to undestand pagan beliefs, nor do they want anyone else to understand them so that the fear, prejudice, and distrust against pagans can be prepetuated.
If fact I fully expect to get thumbs downs to this answer for that very reason....

Some people just don't like disagreement. It's pretty funny- I've neglected to mention my religion on a question or two that Christians have asked- and get good responses because they don't figure out that I'm a pagan. I'm not trying to hide anything but I'm WAY past the newbie stage where every third word out of my mouth is "pagan" or "godDESS" or something.
That said, I think some people troll for pagan questions and just put a thumbs down next to everybody who isn't overtly of their own mindset. I've seen the same behavior in a few different religions- and in one notable non religion, as well.

I also find it odd, and yes I think there are people out there who feel threatened by the mere 'existence' of Paganism though why I am not sure. It is not like we are evil are anything. Sure the people accused of Paganism and witchcraft during the Spanish Inquisition were said to worship the Christian 'devil' whether they were Pagans and/or witches or not. So some people enjoy the stigma so much I guess that they are willing to give a thumbs down to anything that is outside the narrow boundaries that they have set up in their own minds.
Peace out to all

I can answer two similar questions with similar answers but if I put I am Pagan in one I will automatically get one or two thumbs down. Other similar answers in the same question from those of differing religions will either be neutral or even thumbs up so there are people who are offended by the mere presence of Pagans.
Well thumbs down and points are meaningless in the real scheme of things anyway.

Don't worry. I get thumbs down every time I say I'm a gay Christian... I was Pagan for awhile and probably have equal knowledge of Paganism and Catholicism and I'm real good at comparing the two and freaking people out. ha ha. I sometimes answer Pagan questions in a very helpful manner because I respect people and think they have the right to believe whatever they want.

People are intolerant of things they don't understand. Their massive egos also lead them to believe that their opinions and beliefs are the only correct ones and that all other people should think exactly like them. Look, you've already gotten one thumbs down for asking a very sensible question. Oh well, I'll just give you a thumbs up.

I've noticed when my answer is different from the majority of those answering (I won't mention the particular religion) ... yeah, the "thumbs down fairy" blesses me over and again. The very radical people will give you a thumbs down simply because you are not of their faith. Quite spiritual, wouldn't you agree? ; )

as a Muslim, believe me i know..... ppl expect the minority to hide the beliefs that don't concur with the majority. as though it is offensive for someone to be different. your belief is your own and God brings you to where he will.
Peace and blessings to all
