I heard a lot of religious people say being gay is a sin, so I'm curious to read it in the bible. can someone tell me the scripture?

“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9 (Whole Chapter)
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
1 Timothy 1:10 (Whole Chapter)

....Jesus offers forgiveness for all of our sins. i'm glad you are curious about what the bible says, next time i encourage you to open up the bible and find the answer yourself...instead of going online.

you ask if something is wrong.. or if its a "sin" then you disqualify the one thing that can make that determination... The bible.... when it comes to sinful the only way something can be determined as sinful is by comparison to Gods word.... there are many ways to determine moral right and wrong... of course there are as many different levels of morality as their are people..... however only righteousness can determine if something is sinful..... you dont want to know the truth because you have already heard what the word of God says on it..... and you disagree.... so if you disqualify the answer ..... then you dont have to live with it.... the problem is friend.... that dosnt negate the reality of it. There is none righteous on this earth.... so who makes the "righteous" decision.... no one without the word of God. That in itself IS the righteousness. But ill honor your request... ill not quote the bible about homosexuality.... but i will leave you with this quote that your very words and actions here fulfill and embody. 2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

The bible, as ALL other books of faith, are written by MEN (not GOD), they depict the values and ideas of the people writing the books. The messages, are the thoughts of the writer and could have been CHANGED over time! Whenever you have a story, that is PASSED ON, over decades, the story WILL CHANGE, from person to person, they will add and omit whatever they believe in, and the end result is a TAINTED or INACCURATE story line! I believe in the bible to an EXTENT, I keep this rule of thumb in mind, "GOD is a forgiven, loving, caring, respectful GOD, he loves ALL his children, even when they do mis-deeds. The bible has MANY flaws, that over the years of re-write, has blossomed into stories and ideas of the WRITER and NOT JESUS or GOD! Some stories in the bible, I believe, are written to JUSTIFY people's ACTIONS, like killing SCORES of people and ALL things living in the land, for the Israeli's to conquer, and DESTROY everything on the land, so the Israeli's can take over the land! MY GOD, is a caring, loving GOD, I don't think he would have told the Israeli's to KILL EVERYTHING and EVERYONE on the land, so that it may be YOURS!! GOD loves ALL his children, NOT just the Israeli's! I think they tried to JUSTIFY their actions, by saying, "GOD told me to kill and maim and destroy"! ALL religious writings (the Koran, Torah, etc...)are FLAWED, in that they were written by MAN and NOT GOD!!

Aramaic, the supposed language of Jesus.. How many people alive today have ever read the bible he wrote? The Bible today is as corrupt as politicians.. I honestly in my heart do not believe for one second that God preached upon a hill telling his followers that religion will become the biggest and most powerful business known to all mankind.. I dont believe he ever said it was ok to molest lil boys.. I dont believe he ever said to be gay was a sin.. I don't believe he ever said we were to judge one another, we can question and debate for the rest of our lives but not judge.. it isn't our job .. it is surely not our responsibility .. i do believe he preached to love each other , be good to each other, and help each other .. if that was what he was preaching, what happened ? why is there so much hate in this world .. I understand hurt feelings , but there is no need to let it evolve into hate .. I believe god loves us all no matter what .. i'm positive without a doubt we piss him off to no end, but he still loves us.. He gave us free will and the right to make mistakes .. But his love is unconditional.. so why can't we work together and achieve the same goal.. a happy life..

1 corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Of course, since I am an athiest, this means nothing to me. :)

How bout where it says those without sin cast the first stone? Alot of you so called christians on here sure do like to point the finger, try looking at yourself. Sure you like to criticize homosexuals, prostitutes, drug addicts etc. but lots of you are adulterers, sloths, GLUTTONS, molesters, have pre marital sex, abortions and so on and so on. Worry about yourself! Fix your problems first! Just because you keep your sins secret you think you are better than others. I know because I spent many years in a christian church and left because there are TOO MANY hypocrites!!!!!! I think they do it to divert the attention off themselves.

A lot of places but it takes some imagination and twisting the meaning of words. For example in coribthians change effemenate to homosexual, and in leviticus, take a look at the rediculous laws that accompany it. If jesus consorted with a protitute I'm sure he wouldn't condemn homosexuality

There are about 7 passages in the Bible that seem to say homosexuality is wrong but when you look more closely at them they do not, unfortunately a lot of Christians use them out of context to say homosexuality it wrong. I am a gay Christian and have had to deal with this in my church and have looked deeply into these passages.
