As a non believer, I don't really have much of an opinion beyond the fact that it's just more foreign to me then the 'majority' religion that rules my country. Like people, I feel there is both good and bad in each and every one.

It came about like other religons-Founded upon good ideas and priciples,but through time a few idiots ruin it's name for everyone.

I was raised catholic.I believe in God and Jesus,but most of the practices of the Catholic church are stupid.God already knows what you did,what should I have to tell a priest?

Islam has excellent principles and ideas.But due to a few radical nut jobs,it's image has been tarnished.

It was the Prophet Muhammad himself who attempted to negate the positive image of the Jew that had been prevalent earlier. According to historian Bernard Lewis, the Prophet Muhammad's original plan had been to induce the Jews to adopt Islam; when Muhammad began his rule at Medina in A.D. 622 he counted few supporters, so he adopted several Jewish practices-including daily prayer facing toward Jerusalem and the fast of Yom Kippur-in the hope of wooing the Jews. But the Jewish community rejected the Prophet Muhammad's religion, preferring to adhere to its own beliefs, whereupon Muhammad subsequently substituted Mecca for Jerusalem, and dropped many of the Jewish practices.

Three years later, Arab hostility against the Jews commenced, when the Meccan army exterminated the Jewish tribe of Quraiza. As a result of the Prophet Muhammad's resentment, the Holy Koran itself contains many of his hostile denunciations of Jews and bitter attacks upon the Jewish tradition, which undoubtedly have colored the beliefs of religious Muslims down to the present.

My opinion is that Islam is an ideology based on 7th century Arabic culture that will use what ever means required to achieve world domination. This is the goal of Islam as stated daily here on Yahoo answers and other websites by many Muslims.

I have a great problem with any ideology or religion whether it is Communism or Islam that wants to dictate what I think, what I read, how I dress and whom I associate with.

I love it and am very happy I chose it as guidance for my life. It preaches old fashioned values and how America used to be, except that women actually have rights with it. If everyone followed it, there would be peace. By everyone, I include the extremists who like to twist verses to suit their evil agendas.
