Hi,
I have a REALLY sore throat from a head cold and I was wondering if there was ACTUAL medicine you can buy from a store to get rid of it?
I'm on suphedrine for drainage and now I'm wanting something for sore throat and possibly for that cloggy feeling in the ears?

You do not need medicine. Go buy some herbal tea and mix some honey in it. Get on the couch with a comfy blanket drink your tea and watch a good movie.

If you want an approved remedy endorsed by the medical
profession you might gargle with half a cup of apple cider vinegar
three times a day ...kills infection and calms an inflamed
sore throat .also they support an old remedy handed down from grandma an astringent and antiseptic honey will coat and clear sensitive throats .take a teaspoon every few hrs.to relieve scratchiness , or stir a dollop into your favorite herbal tea.
Marshmallow root for red raging throats .put a teaspoon of powdered root into a teaspoon of honey or add 10 drops of tincture into a cup of boiling water to make a tea . herbalists recommend taking either the honey or tea mixture three times a day.
Steam of eucalyptus oil will help unclog sinuses as will prepared horseradish .eat half a teaspoonful on a cracker or by itself.
if you have sinusitis a ten to fourteen day course of antibiotics treats your infection away but saline irrigation is another treatment prescribed by Naturopaths .
1 in the am ix a quarter teaspoon of salt w/8 ounces of warm spring water and pour into a squirt bottle
2 over the sink squirt into each nostril
3 continue to lean over the sink as your nostrils drain
if the condition is chronic you may want to eliminate dairy products from your diet for two months

Tylenol cold burst cough medicine. Im home right now with NO VOICE and a sore throat and that is working better than anything else. Way better than the throat spray.

You can try gargling with Bactidol. If you want to minimize sore throat, take a supplement. I used to have sore throat every month for a year and had to go to ENT for antibiotics. You should only use basic medications.
Sudafed for congestion.
An analgesic for aches, like aspirin or Advil.
A good expectorant like Robitussin for your throat.
Chloroseptic spray will help soothe the sharp throat pain for a day or so.

gargling salt water is the best temporary remedy ive run accross.
There are commercial spays and lozenges made by vicks that are pretty effective.
