ADVANTAGE!! Or I think they have something called "Advantix" for dogs. My cats and ferret had a big problem with this last week and the vet recommended it. It's expensive stuff, but it works fast, fleas were all gone within 48 hours and have not returned since. You can also get it on petmeds.com. Good luck!

Fleas are little buggers to get rid of - especially if they have had time to infest themselves. You are going to have to be very vigilant with this process, but it works, I have done it:
1) Bath both your dogs the same day with Tick & Flea Shampoo (Lopis is good)
2) Go to your vet or petstore & buy Frontline for giant breeds - both the spray and the pipettes.
3) Apply the pipettes to the neck area as recommended.
4) Spray both dogs with the Frontline spray - concentrate on legs, toes, stomach, ears and face.
5) Make sure your grass in the garden is cut very very short - look out for nests in the grass itself where fleas might be - spray these nests with Frontline spray.
6) Wash ALL Doggy blankets, toys and anything they interact with that's fabric - wash in very hot water.
7) Vaccuum your entire house and the areas where the dogs sleep and interact mostly - spring clean style.
Fleas breed worse than rabbits - therefore ensure you concentrate on vaccuuming EVERYDAY and wash blankets, etc at least once a week.
This will work - just be vigilant!!!! Good luck!!!

Bomb the house with flea killer, wash evrything in there, vacuum using adams flea killer for carpet, clean the house if it is cluttered with piles of things and go to vet for flea treatment that will last for 6 months. The over the counter items only kill about half of the fleas my vet says and spray your yard with killer. It is the only way to kill fleas. They will die outside if it goes below freezing for more than two days in a row but chances of that right now are slim. Good Luck

Bath your pets in the Dawn dishwashing liquid, this will kill all fleas, then spray your lawn with a flea killer, but remove pets until dry.Apply the Advantage once a month flea preventative according to weight of your pet.I've also found that the 3 % sevin dust is also good to put on your pet and your lawn to prevent fleas and ticks, but wouldn't suggest using it in with the Advantage meds.

Ask your vet which flea meathod would be best for your animals.
Then go to ebay or petmeds.com and buy them way cheaper.
Bombing the house is a good way to clear that up.
The fleas don't die when the land on the animal which has Advantage or whichever you pick, but when thy bith the dog they die.
Make sure the package you pick kills the fleas in all it's stages.
Good luck and may your dogs get peace.

I have four dogs, and five kids... so I dont even use a flea collar, or any flea medicines on them.because of my kids. i always used a product form avon called SKIN SO SOFT bath oil from Avon in the blue
bottle. It is rather inexpensive, smells decent, and very good for their coats anyways. My dogs are free of fleas, nor have we ever had any problems with it. P.S. Skin So Soft also serves as a great bug repellent for us.. It's multifuntional! you can find it at youravon.com

i think of you need to pay attention on your vet. Fogging the residing house and backyard could look no longer at risk of have an impact even regardless of the undeniable fact that it the long-term this is going to help. some babies are alergic to canine cats and FLEAS particular fleas. while you're working a daycare middle I advise you get a baby risk-free fogger to apply. I additionally advise no longer switching shapoo and flea repellents a lot. Your canine skin could be dry and for that attempt useing a hydrating shampoo. you additionally must contemplate giveing your pets year around flea preventitive. I additionally be conscious of that shaving the coat could reason greater harm interior the long-term then stable. it could worsen the floor greater and it could additionally destroy your canine fur. Petsmart isn't consistently the superb experts to flow to for advice on a flea undertaking. you additionally can choose for to objective and get an allergie study finished on your canine to verify precisely what this is allergic to. some canine are allergic to a particular meat with the help of product some canine are allergic to a minimum of a few thing exterior. Please do no longer only stick to what your loved ones thinks is stable because of the fact there is greater opinions your vet who had to flow to a complex high priced college could be conscious of greater approximately your animals. an excellent element to bear in mind IS maximum LIQUID canine FLEA PREVENTIVES are no longer risk-free FOR CATS AND different ANIMALS. wish I helped and thank you for taking time to study my answer.

do they live out side? if yes my advice is to flea them, put flea collars on them, wash their bedding and put it out in the sun to air for a few days, (don't allow them to sleep on it), and give them a clean alternative to sleep on while their bedding is airing, and then see how you go from their.
if they sleep inside, do the same, but vaccuum the whole house too.
hope this helps
