Those were the laws of man, not of God. The pork and shellfish thing was because they didn't have refrigeration at the time and it was actually a bad thing to eat it b/c you would almost always get sick, which in a time of no doctors could very well kill you. So that has nothing to do with God it's just practical advice. Just like the homosexuallity thing was the opinion of the society at the time. Also at the time it was still necessary to populate the earth which is why homosexuallity and masturbation are considered bad. And, in a time before birth control sex before marriage was a bad thing b/c you didn't need a bunch of fatherless children running around (once again, practical advice). As far as I'm concerned, if Jesus didn't say it I take it with a grain of salt. And I challenge anyone to find me a scripture where Jesus himself said being gay was wrong.

depends on which covenant your under. If you are currently living before Christ died, then the old covenant applies and eating pork and shelled fish is a bad mark. Under the new covenant, God has made clean what was previously unclean to eat.
That being said, all sin is equal in the eyes of God, because all sin separates us from God. Only through the sacrifice and Grace of Jesus Christ can we be cleansed of our sin.
The best part is that it's a free gift for any that choose to follow Christ.

hi mate, Having been a christian for fifty years i'm going to throw in my 2 penneth nicely worth. Sin separates people from God - sin is "ANTYHING" that comes between you and God. consequently in essence all of them separate you from God yet particularly some sins are extra extreme than others eg killing somebody or hating them (see what Jesus reported approximately hating - in reality Jesus reported that except you forgive others God won't forgive you) Paul observed no longer allowing your suggestions to stay on the failings that are sinful. Jesus observed drastic measures to end sinning yet maximum christians seem to miss on the subject of the gospels at the instant. you're rather splendid to show out the hypocrisy of your christian acquaintances and it would be terrific that they save their mouths close - so what number cases have you ever watch Broke returned Mountain? in my opinion i do no longer think of that Homosexuality is a sin and is a genetic disposition and there are a number of homosexuals who're christians (Paul wrote some issues that have been in accordance with lack of expertise yet on the different hand the Bible has many stuff that are actually not any extra considered splendid and that i do no longer think that the Bible grew to become into "stimulated" via God). regards Mike D Now Agnostic 050213

Sin is sin in God's eyesight. There is no sin that is bigger or smaller than any other. The eating pork and shelled fish you are referring to is found in the Old Testament. When Jesus died on the Cross for our sins, He did away with that. Every animal that God made is good to eat that God has created. Nothing is any longer considered clean or uncleaned. May God Bless

Eating pork and shell fish is not a sin for those who accept Acts10;10. Homosexuality has never been abrogated.

My current understanding of sin’s definition is “failure to take control of your impulses.” Therefore, all things that fall into this category are equivalent. It's not the outcome that defines whether or not something is a sin, it's the fact that someone failed to control the impulse that caused the outcome. You can intend on doing something good but still accidentally murder someone. Would that be a sin? I don't think so. Is it a sin for a doctor to make a mistake in surgery and end up killing the patient? Not really. Only if giving into an impulse caused the death would you consider it a sin.

Subject your question to a Jew next time and maybe you will get ur answer. I am under a new law and that's Christ's laws and I am a gentile not a jew. Homosexuality is under the new law and it is still an abomination unto God. Comprehende'?

Of course they're all equally bad. Because everyone KNOWS that eating clams can be compared to child molesting.

.OK first in the beginning all sins were created equal....no sin is worse or better than the other. But, when JESUS came he said.. Its not the food you eat..(not what goes in your body, but what comes out) so all food restrictions and the like were done away with in the new testament.
