Robert Capa once said: "The truth is the best picture, the best propaganda."
Photojournalism must include the intent of the photographer to objectively represent the subject, and be published in a context which encourages objectivity.
Propaganda on the other hand need only be published in a bias context.

Photojournalism is taking pictures to tell a story. Propaganda is spreading information around to try to get people to be on your side.

Photojournalism can be propaganda. The connotation of propaganda is not only negative, it can be used on both sides of an issue.

Photojournalism (PJ) and studio are really two ends of a spectrum. With PJ or PJ style, you are trying to capture a moment as it happens, in a studio you are trying to create the perfect moment, in many ways the studio takes a very technical approach and often lacks the dynamism. You'll notice that I have written PJ style as a distinct difference, as this emulates the ethos of PJ but perhaps for an aesthetic goal, as is the vogue style for a lot of wedding photographers these days, however at times perhaps the content is to an extent artificial recreation.

propaganda is to make you think in a certain way or just glitzy things that are not really that important (mainly). where photojournalism is telling a story. and u take what u feel from it and its not trying to make you think something, it just trys to make you see.
