DIssociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder is very hard to diagnose.
Some signs of it might be if the person in question "loses time". Or finds new items such as clothing in their home that they can't remember buying.
Changes in handwriting or voice.

Dissociation can range from very mild (such as driving somewhere as if you're on autopilot... you're there, but don't really remember driving)... to severe where there is a core identity and one or more alters. Because the degree of dissociation can vary so much, it is very hard to say for sure if someone has a full-blown case of DID or a milder transient dissociative disorder.

DID is quite uncommon and can be hard to diagnose. It's not just changes in moods, it's changes in body language and speech patterns and behaviors, etc. From what I have read on the subject, the changes with each personality are rather drastic. Each individual personality tends to have their own mannerisms, way of dressing, way of interacting with others, strengths and weaknesses, even distinct differences in handwriting.

A warning flag that somebody has DID is that they "lose time". They have chunks of time that they can not account for.
