We're Celtic and Germanic and proud! Just because we follow some desert rat religion that originated among a bunch of dumb sheep fornicators doesn't mean we should totally divorce ourselves from our culture. Besides in the rush to get Europeans to convert to the religion, "the church" morphed itself and its religion to appeal to Europeans' culture. Halloween isn't sinful, the church simply incorporated it into its system by making a similar holiday from a Christian perspective, hoping to thus co-opt the celebration to its religious philosophy.

The origins of an day are like the origins of a person in the eyes of Christ - unimportant. Sure, just because Christmas might once have been a pagan celebration doesn't mean that that is what it stands fo now. Just as a person can be redeemed up from the depths of Paganism, so too can a celebration held on a specific date.

Are you worshiping pagan gods when you celebrate Christmas? Of course not. Why let your behavior be governed by what people did hundreds of years ago.

Examine your own heart.

In fact, the Christian Church regularly "took over" pagan holidays so their focus would be redirected to Christ.

Don't let somebody else do your thinking for you.

So, I'm wondering why didn't Christians come up with their own Holy days? It shouldn't have been that hard right?

And as for these religions being false, you know that how? And please don't say "Because the Bible says so" Give me some logic, some facts, some historical basis for your statement.

People who can only quote the party line are generally called followers for a reason.

Jesus hates? You must realize that you have no knowledge of what he likes or dislikes when it comes to traditional holidays. People who participate in these holidays because of family and friends and more importantly to celebrate Jesus not just his birth or death but the gift he has given us and that's the free gift of salvation Not Santa Claus ,free gifts and over commercialized retail events. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

People in His day didn't expect Him to go and have dinner with a tax collector, but He did. I doubt if you know anything about what Jesus would or would not do. Why do you let my religious practices bother you so much? Just do your thing and I'll do mine.

I hope you don't drink coffee. That has pagan origins as well. Ditto for fireworks. (The Chinese used to use the latter in ceremonies to ward off evil spirits.)

Heck, even the names of the days of the week and months of the year are derived from pagan deities. I hope no self-respecting Christian uses those.

The mistake I see here is that you are assuming there is something wrong with Paganism and Pagan holidays. They were holy too. They had good points. There is beauty to their celebrations, and I see nothing wrong with them.
