So this person's continual spouting of "Rome Disagrees with You" is proof that he has a higher intellect and that he is a better debator? LOL! Right, and I have a piece of prine ocean view property in Arizona.

By chance is your friend's name Ratzinger? "Rome disagrees" is not a meaningful argument. All the statement does is defer to the authority of the Curia. Your friend needs to cite the argument and conclusion used by Rome. Short of that, it's like saying, "I say so." It's meaningless.

i have knowl;edge of roman catholic theology and have great s respect even though i dont disagree with many of their positions for their theologians
i suspect it is more your ignorance of the historical church that you cant argue sensibly with them

Protestantism is based very very heavily of Roman catholic theology
