ok, my cat is acting crazy and it came outta nowhere.im not sure, but i think it all started when i had a halloween party and i had to lock him in an unocupied room for about 5 hours. i let him out and everything was fine. then the next day i go to leave to go to work. and he jumps on my legs and starts biting them and not letting go. so i bent down to try to get him off and he ran as soon as my hand touched him. he did that for while and now its not before im going somewhere, its all the time. sometimes he'll be fine, but it happens everyday now. yesterday i was just sitting on the floor and he starts meowing all strange and jumped on my arm and started biting it. its really weird and if you put your hand or foot to close he'll bite it..its like hes sitzo. does someone know what this means?

He probably has separation anxiety disorder or is prone to anxiety. Cats can have anxiety problems just like people can. My cat has this problem when I leave him alone. Go to this link for a description of Separation Anxiety in cats: http://www.petplace.com/cats/separation-anxiety-in-cats/page1.aspx

I know that description fits my cat to a tee. He throws up when left alone, follows me from room to room, and yowls when I leave the room and he can't get to me.

He also gets peevish when I leave him alone to go to work. He can start biting when I return and generally, shows that he's angry. If I spend nearly every minute of the day with him, however, he is the best friend I could ever have, loving and perfect.

I have started leaving the radio on for him when I have to leave the house, and he appears to be much happier. Sometimes, he doesn't even know that I have gone at all when I come back.

Of course cats can be traumatized. This party you had was there a lot of loud music and lots of people? There are a few things you need to consider. First have you ever shut your cat in a room for that many hours before?
Did you leave his necessities there with him? Litter box food, water, toys? Did you go in to visit with him at all during the party? Is he used to loud music and lots of people? if not all the things listed above could have contributed to his freaked out condition. Perhaps hes afraid to come near you because you might do that to him again. Here's a suggestion. go to your local health food store and ask for Bach's Flower Essence Rescue Remedy. Put a few drops in the cat's water bowl every day for about a week. That should help him to calm down some. It works for my cats when they get freaked out by us moving furniture around or by July 4th noise and stuff like that. Good Luck LL

Well, I think all cats act really crazy. Every cat I have had goes flying off the walls every now and then. Dogs can go nuts at times too, though not quite as violent. Your cat may need a bit more attention.

poor kitty. sounds like he needs therapy. I had a cat that landed on his head, onto a pile of rocks. A couple of days later he developed a habit of attempted murder on his tail! He'd see it, then chase it, catch it, then bite and scratch it, screaming the whole time. Cats do crazy things
