It`s NOT legal, you can see if you read the LOONG agreement before you sign up for it, it says something like some stuff on it may not be legal and stuff.
The system limewire is legal since theyre not the ones giving the music and stuff but downloading music and stuff is illegal.
But yes you can use it to download music for your iPod.
For safe im not sure, i heard that some people got tracked by using limewire and had to pay a fine but the chances of getting caught is VERY slim.
PS. I also i heard that some people put viruses in the music.
Try going to www.singingfish.com for music. They usually have the more popular songs there and you cant get tracked there.

I have had Limewire for almost 3 years now and I have had absolutely no problems with it regarding safety. I know I can download movies to burn on DVD's, and music. You can download songs for an MP3 player, I dont know about an I-POD cuz I dont know anything about them. Limewire as far as I know is also legal.

Limewire is illegal. As far as the safety thing goes, I have heard that you may get a virus using it. However I use it all the time and have been using it for a year and have never gotten a virus from it.

Usually downloading music for free is illegal, and Im pretty sure you can get viruses from some of the things you download!! Yes you can use it for your iPod!

I am affraid to tell you I found spyware on my computer....
Even if you remove limewire from your computer... a good anti spyware will detect limewire's spy activities.
Be aware of putting your personal confidential files in shared folder. Anyone can share them if you are using limewire.

The program itself is legal, if it wasn't, they wouldn't have a business license fool. It depends on you whether or not you want to keep your activities with it legal or not. When it comes down to viruses and whatnot, you just have to know what to download and what not to. Obviously files less than 1mb or even 5mb are viruses. And if you search for porn, they will probably have viruses attached to them.

it is illegal to use but the chances of getting caught are nill and non also you can use limewire to download music for the I-pod but you must import the music into I tunes in order to download them to your I-pod

i use it but i suggest only using it for music. most a**holes put viruses in their program downloads hope this helped

its not legal and not confidential, it carries way more viruses than its worth and is killer to your hard drive.
