Yes, and here is more info.
The Anti-christ is a figure who opposes God. The word is used to describe a spirit of rebellion against God, "...the spirit of the Antichrist..." (1 John 4:3) and of a specific future person identified as the man of lawlessness (2 Thess. 2:3). He actively opposes Christ (2 Thess. 2:4) and when he arrives, he will be able to perform miracles (2 Thess. 2:9). Some believe he will be an incarnation of Satan and as such will be able to deceive many. His number is 666 (Rev. 13:18). A further possible description of him might be found in Zech. 11:15-17).

I'm not sure this person is a public figure we know as of yet, but I do believe he is alive and well and will be stepping up to the plate before too long. He will suddenly appear just like the morning of 9/11 occurred.

Has anybody here really read their Bible and what it says about the antichrist? It mentions the antichrist 5 times in both the singular and plural forms. It states that the antichrist has already come at the time of the Apostles and continues through our days. The antichrist is any person(s) or group that opposes Christ and his teachings and can include religions. Their are many antichrists among us right now.

No I do not think he's public, yet.
From what I understand, this person will come out of nowhere, most likely of eastern european descent and he will bring about a peace in the world. The Jews will be tricked into believing he's the messiah. So, I think the world will get to a much worst place, and the person who will be the AntiChrist, will be very convincing and very popular.

The Bible says that Satan is a created being, definitely wiser and more powerful than us, but not anything like God. He doesn't know the future, except what he knows of the Bible.
So, doesn't it make sense that he has been preparing an "antichrist" in every generation since Jesus, a person he could push into power under his control, whenever he saw the end coming!
As his prepared puppets die off, he has to find another person who is hostile enough toward God and His people to be usable for his purpose.
When people say, "So-n-so must be the antichrist" just remember there's always been someone who "could have been".

The world isn't going to end any time soon. People have been fearing the Anti-Christ ever since Jesus died. The Anti-Christ is no one you'll ever know!

i doubt it. the anti-christ will be someone with dangerously immense charisma and the ability to speak very well in public. this would be someone with overwhelming popularity, christians, jews, muslims, hindus, buddhists, pageans, athiests, and agnostics alike will embrace this person blindly. i cant think of anyone right now that fits these characteristics. if he is on earth he has not yet revealed himself on an international level.
