if it's a hormonal problem then we only have god to blame for being fat. if it's a mental disorder causing an eating disorder, then we only have god to blame for creating us this way. if it's simply enjoying food for the sake of eating, then we only have our human nature to blame, which was given to us by god, who already knew how we'd turn out, so we only have god to blame. or so it seems to me.

I don't think it is a sin. Not in all cases is a person who is fat responsible. They may have thyroid problems, hormone problems, or many other underlying health issues that make them that way. There are alot of times when people are overweight and it doesn't have anything to do with being a glutton for food, they may eat very little and still not be thin.

whoever said that to be fat is a sin? yeah.. we must treat our bodies lie temples. but that does not mean that we must not eat to restrict our selves to be thin.
to treat our body like a temple means to take good care of the body. we must be happy to have this body, this face, hands etc and not wish for a more handsome face. it has got nothing to do with being fat.
u know, there are a lot of people who eat less and are fat and some others who eat more and are still thin.
being fat or thin depends on your body genes and it has got nothing to do with the bible.
if you are still jnot convinced, let me say you that in hindu culture, one god called ganesha is fat and he is considered as the remover of all obstacles.
of course, principles and beliefs change from religion to religion.
but all religions preach love dont they?
so if you are fat, dont worry. eat as you wish, but take care of your body.

Being fat is not a sin, while gluttony and eating unhealthy foods is. Being fat is just a consequence of that sin.

One can be fat and NOT be sinning anymore. Perhaps they are losing weight. Or perhaps they have a thyroid problem or something.

I am fat. I have not always been fat.
I hurt my back and could no longer work.
Not working put weight on me.
I am working on my weight ,but when you are in pain ,its hard.
I will not take pain pills ,I have an additive personality.
One Sin is knowing to do good and doing it not.
My body is the temple of the HOLY GHOST He just has more room to dwell.

It is not a sin to be fat, but I was always taught to eat in moderation and only when hungry as to not waste food. Being overweight can lead to inflamation, heart disease, diabetes, ect... so perhaps there is a reason God warns us to eat in moderation. I have nothing against heavy people, and know many women who are bigger and still good looking.

Gluttony is a sin. A result of gluttony is obesity. Not all people who are "fat" are gluttons. There are many medical conditions and physical handicaps that can attribute to people being "fat." So, is it a sin to be "fat?" No. Is it a sin to be a glutton? Yes.

Yes, but it is to be given the same amount of weight (no pun intended) as all other sins, because all sin is equal in God's eyes.

Several times Christ and the apostle Paul state, "It is NOT what enters a man that defiles him, but what comes out of his mouth defiles him." This is said several times.

Besides people do not choose to be fat.
