From your question, I'm guessing you're talking about people whom you KNOW to be Jewish or Muslim or atheist.

I would say that it is less than polite.

Why not send appropriate cards?

You can get generic cards, wishing a wonderful holiday season, and if they don't have specifically Christian imagery they'd probably do well.

I have lots of Pagan friends, and there are not a lot of specifically Yule cards out there on the market, so I use the generic type and write "Have a Blessed Yule" in them.

I send Hanukkah cards to my Jewish friends. Those aren't difficult to find.

I don't send holiday cards to atheists. That would just be silly.

For Muslims, the dates for Ramadan change every year, so don't assume that it falls in December:

First Day : 10/04/2005 Last Day : 11/02/2005
First Day : 09/23/2006 Last Day : 10/22/2006
First Day : 09/12/2007 Last Day : 10/11/2007

And in any Case, I'm not certain that cards would be appropriate. If you have Muslim friends, it would be far more respectful and courteous to (in person) wish them a blessed Ramadan, although I have seen one perfectly lovely Ramadan e-card here:

(Hit replay when you get to the card).

Since I don't really know, let's ask our Musllim friedns here: would the e-card I linked to be appripriate and appreciated?

As an atheist , i do not really mind if people send me Christmas cards.
I think it is ok to send Christmas Cards to Jews or Muslims, just as long as it does not have a picture of the cross or baby Jesus or anything like that on it. You might want to send them cards that say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" though.

To a person of a different religion, you could send a card that just says "Season's Greetings" or whatever. To an Athiest, calling it Christmas would be okay I think unless they personally have some problem with that. It's become such a secularized holiday anyway.

Most atheists that have relatives who are of the christian faith still call the holiday they celebrate Christmas. Just skip the religious cards. So no, not unless they are Jewish or Muslim by culture or have family that is.

What are you babbling approximately? of direction i do no longer deliver out non secular Christmas enjoying cards; i'm no longer non secular. yet as far as i be attentive to, there is not any regulation forbidding you to realize this in case you choose for. there substitute into some moron on right here some days in the past, pretending it substitute into unlawful for individuals to have Christmas wood -- even nonetheless, needless to say, it extremely is not.

You know your friends better than any of us on here, why don't you ask them and then respect what they tell you. I think that your question really comes down to personal preference. Some won't care or they'll think it's a nice gesture or they'll be up in arms and ticked. If you don't know a person well, then the gesture can come across as condescending. However, if they're good friends of yours and know you well, they will know it for the gesture you intend.

I would respect the person's beliefs and send a happy holiday card to non-Christians.

Get some cards that say "Happy Holidays" to make everyone happy. I'm Atheist and personally don't get offended, because I realize people don't all know that I'm not Christian.
