Ok so I met this guy which is 19 (I'm 15). He is leaving to go overseas for 2 years. We really like each other, but I'm not sure if I am ready to have something this serious. I want him to still be in my life, but there are other people that I may want to date while he's gone. Here's my question.... Should we just take the next 2 years to get to know each other and go from there?? Should I just tell him we can be friends?

Please only answer with intelligent answers. In my state the legal age of consent is 14 (believe or not),so I am not 'jailbate'.

Just be friends. He will come back a different person. You are obviously interested in dating others at this stage of your life.

Definitely, you should tell him to be just a friend first. Friendship is a foundation to a good relationship anyway aside from the fact that you are still so young....too young to be tied down right now.

You never know who you will meet in the future. Keep your option open.

15? If i am correct you used the word 'like' not love. Which means you dont love him enough to commit yourself to wait for him. Stay friends and date others and if you still miss him even then, then you really do love him. Dont let him talk you into something you might regret. Good Luck!

15 is much too young to make a decision like that. Get your life together before you get involved with someone else. If you want to stay in contact that is fine, but worry about your career and your goals. Support him by what he wants to do but you need to remember what you want to.

First of all, he's too damn old for you!!! You are jail bait. This guy is almost 20 and dating a 15 year old???? That is gross. Date boys in grade my dear and forget about this guy.

I would tell him to just be friend until he got back and see how it feels when he got back.

Tell him that you don't want to go steady now but that you want to be his friend.

be honest and tell him you can not commit to remaining exclusive with him. it is better for you to be honest than lie and cheat later on.

good luck
