I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love it!
We don't believe in a "different" Jesus than the "Christians" we believe "in" him differently...we believe He is a separate person from God the Father and they believe the two plus the Holy Ghost are the same person.

It all comes down to interpretation...Christians interpret who Jesus is differently than we do - as far as whether or not he is the same person as God the Father, therefore they think we don't believe in the same Jesus they do. We believe Jesus Christ in the bible was born to virgin Mary and Joseph, he suffered and died for our sins, BUT we believe we must do all we can in this life (works some call it) and he will make up the difference for what we are "short" - that is another way "Christians" differ themselves from Mormons. We do believe there are certain ordinances and covenants you must make in this life to receive the highest degree of glory (Celestial) or exaltation in the eternities...

its wonderful. it is not a cult at all. they do believe in the 3 god head (fyi) and actually when they did tranlslate "the golden plates" it translated just the same as joe smith had done it. who's to say it cant be true when the bible is the same. They DO belive in the bible and read it just as much as the book of mormon.

The Angel "Moroni" gave Joseph Smith a set of gold plates (which have never been found) giving him instructions and "new insight" into the Bible and the personhood of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints was formed.
Unpopular everywhere, they found a home in Utah.

While believing the the teachings of Jesus, and using His name in their church's name, they deny major doctrines of Christianity. The deity of Jesus is denied, as is the Trinity. Lucifer is the brother to Jesus and books were added to scripture to further the whole sham.

The Apostle Paul would have a really hard time calling a Mormon "Brother."

I was raised Mormon. It is not all its cracked up to be. Allot of changes happen in this religion to go with the times. God never changes. If they were the one true religion, Like you have to confess and renounce all other religions, why would they wont to be called Christian when the renounce them to be apart of the so called on true church.

There is one important thing that is essential for you to know about Mormonism: the difference between the Mormon's Jesus and the Jesus of Christianity.

Mormons believe that Jesus opened the door for us to be saved. However, in order to be saved, you have to live a worthy life--and walk through the door yourself. Therefore, Mormons believe you are saved by works--and after you do everything in your power to be righteous, that's when Jesus' grace kicks in.

Christians believe that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves. It's through our faith in Jesus that we're saved. As Romans 3:20-end says, we're saved by grace alone, but our faith in Jesus convicts us to follow the law.

This may seem like a small difference between Mormons and Christians, but it's HUGE!! Therefore, even though Mormons call themselves Christian (and say they have to be since their church has His name in it and since they have the BOM.."another testament of Christ"...then they have to be Christian) they're not Christian.

HOWEVER, when you get to the HEART of who Jesus Christ is, the Jesus of the Mormon faith is NOT the same Jesus Christ of the Christian faith-- The theology between Mormonism and Christianity differs with: who Jesus is, where He came from, His grace, and His relationship with God (trinity vs. mormon's "godhead").

So, to answer your question-- Mormons are great people with strong values. They just don't realize that they believe in a different Jesus than we do.

EDIT: Pink, your answer doesn't argue theology, rather semantics. Please, I'm curious, expand on your answer...

Yea it is a Cult based on a lie by joe smith a lunatic crazy man.
Dont try to discuss the truth about their cult cause they wont listen. Joseph smith translated some arabic scroll in the 1800's and said it was the book of Abraham written by Abraham. The way he did it was by burying his head in a hat, ie LUNATIC well they had the same scroll correctly translated in 1965 and not one word that the idiot joseph smith translated was right, not one! And it turned out to be all about death a death book of some sort, and reconfirmed in 2003. It is a shame so many people are being decieved by this all for the money CULT!
Tragic quite frankly!
The GODHEAD is the trinity Father spirit son.as is said in the bible no where does it say trinity in the bible but it says GODHEAD which is the trinity three in one
