I believe reggeaton started in the low income housing residential areas of San Juan Puerto Rico.
Before this there were rappers like El General " from Panama and Vico C from Puerto Rico

Yes even though most people think it was Panama ! In Panama all they did was create reggae roots in spanish what they did was create the spanish version of Jamaican reggae and Puerto Ricans did a variation to that and created reggaeton !

YES! It is a mixed of regee and rap. It started in the poor neighborhoods in Puerto Rico. NOT from Panama!

I got know clue, but I do know that most of the reggaetón singers are Boricua. It probably was though.
