I dyed my hair bright pink last summer, but I worked for my parents who had no problem with it. I'm going to start looking for a job in February or March for the summer and am thinking of dyeing my hair teal or purple, or streaking it with teal or purple. I am a university student, and there is a good chance that I could be working at a government desk job or doing outdoor work. Will the hair colour limit me to art, music, independant video, and clothing stores? Would it be acceptable to have my hair highlighted an unnatural colour and opposed to completely dyed?

yeah, most jobs will be judgmental already the minute you step through the door. They will cite "company policy"right away. There will be some who would hire you though, but if you are dealing with the public, if all qualifications are the same, a manager will hire somebody else over you. If you are determined to have it done, limit your job finding to trendy stores where young adults shop.

Alot of employers these days have very strict codes for appearance. They want to project a certain image to the public and alot of the time they think that odd hair color is the wrong image. (Weird, I know.) It varies, employer to employer, so I'd stick with streaks and maybe temporary/wash-out dye until you get a job. Find out what they expect of you or ask your boss outright what they would think. It can never hurt to ask.

specific, my organic shade is brown. i've got had blonde highlights manytimes. I as quickly as had blonde and purple highlights. I as quickly as dyed my hair a vivid purple with a semi-everlasting hair dye. it is going to truly diminished to a brown-purple hair shade. I returned have been given bleach blonde highlights. and that i then have been given dark blonde highlights. in the process the summer season I dyed a strip of hair an exceedingly remarkable blue. :) BQ: specific, i like ombre hair! i might do it, yet i do no longer prefer to break my hair anymore than it already is!

It will limit your job options because the reality is that appearance counts and you may not present the way the business wants itself to be seen.
