That doesn't sound normal to me. Nothing like that happened to mine, but I didn't have staples. I had those stiches that are absorbed by the body, so nothing had to be removed from mine. Nothing separated at all, not even when I got some kind of 24-hour bug less than a week afterward and I was puking every 20 minutes. I was so afraid I was gonna pull those stiches, but they didn't move!

Anyway, I'd call the dr first thing, or the OB floor at the hospital. They'll be able to tell you better than we will.

Good luck and congratulations on your new baby!

That happened with me except mine opened back up half way and right after they took the staples out. They had to clean it daily in the hospital and showed me how to properly clean it (avoid getting it extremely wet in the shower since tap water isn't sterile). Go to the doctors asap just to make sure everything is find and they is no infection.. They can give you advice on what to use. Good luck :)

NO! this is not normal. Go back to the doctor so he can restaple it. Reason is that if you heal on one side the other side will heal open and you will always get infected no matter what. You will not be able to wear bikini panties because you will get irritated and it will cause a stomach infection. Go back to the OBGYN doctor and tell them. For your sake do not do any home remedies on it you will be hurting yourself in the long run.

This does happen sometimes (my own incision opened ALL the way, unfortunately!) but it isn't supposed to.

Your best bet is to give your doctor a call. He/she will probably want to take a look at it, and may also have a specialized cleaning regimine for you to follow until it closes on its own. There might also be some concern that your incision may open up further, so please do be careful.

By the way - congratulations on your new baby, and best wishes for a rapid recovery!

I would say to go to the doctor and have it checked out. It could be perfectly normal but I don't remember any openings when I had my C-section after the staples came out.

Congrats on your beautiful baby. Ahh so cute in that picture.

I had a c-section myself and nothing like that happened to me. I would strongly suggest you go to the er/doctor right away cause that does not sound right at all.
Are you sure it is a gap? Or is it just the skin folded over? (if it is that then that is okay)

Good luck and Take care

That is not normal. You should get that check out soon before it becomes infected. That (an infection) would be really terrible to deal with after having a baby.

definitely contact you physician. i had one and it felt like i nearly pulled open a section of it and now (4 years later) that section is thicker in skin than the other part. also 1/2 inch above and below the scar i have no feeling

I would go with no.

I don't think that they should open any. Your inside sutures should keep them closed.

I had a c-section... but I don't think they opened after my doc. took the stitches out... yet then again,... i had to wear them sticky things for a week after he took my stitches out.

Good Luck and God Bless you and that beautiful baby!!
