Your first answer is correct, she probably does have a different name. In addition to their site here are some others for class Reunions that you can get info from. Maryann may post with her maiden name in a class site.
Perhaps you can remember her parents name, or find their surname in the white pages. Give them a call. If none of that works, here are some private investigation sites that are fairly cheap.
