Listen to your parents. If you go to myspace with the purpose of connecting with old friends or music, that's ok. But myspace has become a home for pedophiles and stalkers amongst other things. You parents love you and don't want you to get hurt. Have you watched the news latley? Myspace is causing a lot of problems for everyone. Also in the future, some schools have started checking for students with myspaces and they've gotten in trouble for having one and the content of them. And many bussinesses are checking nowadays. You parents are very smart and love you, thats why they say no. Listen to them, you may not understand it know, but when you have children you'll understand and feel the same way.

All teens need some space with some rule and restrictions. So, sit your parents down and talk to them. Tell them that you want to be able to have some freedom, and you want them to give you there oppinion on this. Don't get mad at them at any point because you don't want this conversation to end.Hear them out!!Tell them that you are getting older and need time with friends.Make sure you say you want to be trusted and that you won't do anything that will disappoint them.Tell them you want limitations, and you will abide by there rules.Say you want a time to be home and you won't be a minute late..Tell them you they are wonderful parents and that you will always need them and if you make a mistake you will come to them for help. They just worry this world isn't a happy place. It's full of weird perverts.

Try to stray away their attention from the negatives and strongly emphasize the positives of having a myspace.

If all your friends wanted to jump off a cliff, would you...oh nevermind. Learn to pick your battles. If you act mature about this decision, then hopefeully the next time you want something, they will realize you are ready.

Sorry but I don't want my kids info. out on my space for everyone to see. Too many weirdos out there. That is probably their view. Do you want a weirdo to know where you live and go to school?

Open a page on blogger instead... it hasn't gotten such bad publicity in the media. Your parents are probably concerned about predators on the internet...which is definitely a valid concern. If you end up getting one, please be careful.
