First of all I want to say how sorry I am for your loss.
If the cat was an indoor only cat then it's about average....my parents had a cat that was indoor only and she lived to be 20, my Husband and I had an indoor only cat that lived to be 19.
But, if it was an indoor/outdoor cat then yes that's would be quite old.
According to my Vet cats that live indoors only usually live twice as long as those that are allowed outdoors.
Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I had a female that lived to be 21. People thought she was amazing, as it was only the last couple months that there were any signs of her failing. The biggest was she'd want to jump up to get on the couch and fall. Eighteen is also pretty old. I have another that is just 10 now and I see signs that makes me feel she is living in her last days. She is sleeping up to 18 hours a day. I hope you get yourself another kitty to love and you'll get that love back. Blessings

I'm so sorry about your losing your cat. Yes, 18 years is a long time for a cat to live, so you are lucky you had her that long.

Yes, that's extremely old. You must have been a wonderful cat owner. I hope you will take in a shelter kitten as a replacement.

Yes it is, it just goes to show you were a good owner and kept her real healthy and cared much about her, not many cats get to live that long, I am sorry for your loss though.
