They are both strong narcotic pain relievers. Morphine is a natural substance. Oxycondone is man made. Morphine can be delivered IV, both are available in extended release form. Oxycodone is the Generic for Oxycontin and come in tablets or capusuls up to 160mg. Hope this helps. Both work well for moderate to severe pain. I have chronic severe pain I have take both medications. I prefer the Oxycodone I don't get as many side effects as I did with morphine. Hope this helps.

Oxycodone is a big word for Percocet and you can only get the oxycodone in oral form.
Morphine can be titrated up to hundreds of milligrams, and can be given in IV or oral forms. You can give both rectally, but Morphine is more common to be administering as a rectal dose.
Also, Morphine can be given as a sustained release tablet. Oxycodone is quick release always.

Oxycodone is a potent and addictive opioid analgesic medication synthesized from thebaine. Its name is derived from codeine - the chemical structures are very similar, differing only in that the hydrogen on the codeine is oxidised to a hydroxyl group, hence 'oxy' and the hydroxyl group from the codeine becomes a ketone group, hence 'oxycodone.'

Morphine is an extremely powerful opiate analgesic drug and is the principal active agent in opium. Like other opioids, e.g. heroin, morphine acts directly on the central nervous system (CNS) to relieve pain, and at synapses of the arcuate nucleus, in particular.
