I'm friends with this guy, we went to the same high school and now we're at the same college. We weren't friends until college, either. I'm totally scared of telling him I like him because he might not feel the same way and I don't want things to be awkward between us. What kinds of things can I do that will give him a hint but maybe still leave things at least a little open?

P.S. He's told me himself that he is really bad at picking up on hints... does that mean I should be a little more obvious about my feelings? Girls, what would you do, and guys, what would you want a friend to do to show you they like you without things being awkward?

I guess in your case, you should just maturely, let him know - Tell Him.

It depends on his personality, some guys you need to be more subtle at letting them know and others, you need to be more obvious. Since he admits that he can't pick up on hints, maybe it's his way of telling you that he wants more signals from you.

Some more subtle things you can do are like lightly touching him and trying to get physically close. You should be able to tell by his body language if he is interested. Also, if you don't see him in a while, next time you see him, tell him that you missed him. Be a good listener and be interested in what he talks about, such as when he talks about his personal interests. Smile a lot when you are around him and good luck!

Perhaps you can ask some open ended questions. Then once he gave his answer to a general question, then try to prove his answer. Like saying..."Can you tell me more about it?" Then, if you think that he is really too bad about hints from a girl, then you should flirt naturally my dear. If you haven't done this then, practice before doing the flirting in front of his face. Since he had already told you that he is bad in picking up hints.

What I meant was... "cautious flirting". In this way, you are trying to get his attention and hopefully he will know that you do like him at the same time still be good friends.

Ooooh, that one's always rough. Can you feel him out first? Maybe get a few clues (without deluding yourself!) as to his feelings for you? Maybe he just sees you as a friend, but would be open to something more. Maybe, "do you think we'd be good together as boyfriend / girlfriend?" Just throw it over your shoulder casually.

i like it when girls look me in the eyes, not that sexy wanting look though that i dont like. if he doesntlike you it will probably awkward no matter what you do, but i think that is the best. that and talking to him. nothing serious just talking. ( note that he will probably be shy and not much for conversasion but it is still one of the best things.) God bless ;)
