if you go sleep at 9 pm, and wake up at 6 am, you are getting 9 hours of sleep, which is plenty. If you are still feeling tired, think about why. Are you eating healthy food? enough iron? enough excercise?

Boy do I know where you are coming from! I have overslept plenty of times as a result of over snoozing or accidentally turning off my alarm. I have cured the problem by setting two alarms for the morning, my actual alarm clock and my cell phone. Make sure you have an alarm that you can't turn off in your sleep, only snoozing should be possible by the push of a single button. If you don't have one I would invest in one. Also, I set my clock to be 20-30 minutes fast on purpose, this might help you not oversleep, especially if it is by only 10 or 15 minutes. I've found that even though you really know your clock is set right you forget about that if you are half awake. For me, if I remember it is fast it is because I am awake already. Make sure your alarm clock is set on a loud obnoxious ringer as well and try placing it across the room from you so that you have to get up and out of bed to turn it off. Maybe you aren't sleeping as well as you think you are or should be. Try taking a 20 min catnap during the day or doing some light exercise before going to bed. If all else fails a doctor might be able to offer some other suggestions. I think it is ultimately about retraining your mind and body to wake up on time, if you are a compulsive snoozer then you need to make yourself get up the first time your alarm goes off to break the habit. Hmm 9-6am is a total of 9-hours of sleep. Sometimes excess sleeps (more than 8 hrs.) can really give you headaches or other body aches. Forgot the explanation there but it's basically like that. About your question on how to wake up on time? Well, we both kinda have the same situatin. When my clock alarms, i'd often still lie on the bed and count to 5 mins... then 10... then often completely doze off... and wake up really late... What I did was I'd put my alarm clock quite distant from my bed so when it alarms in the morning I'd have to get up and walk over to my alarm so I'm quite more awake compared to turning the alarm off while still lying on the bed. Why don't you try it and see if it'll work for you? Oh, just make sure that yuour alarm's loud enough so it'll really force you to get out of bed.

Use an alarm clock that is really a radio, and set it to your favorite station at a moderate volume. Set it an hour or longer before you actually have to get up; when it goes off, you'll have an hour to lie in bed, drifting in and out of sleep while listening to the radio. An hour of being half asleep and half awake ought to be long enough for you to gather enough strength to get up.
Don't use a buzzer or any annoying sound, the temptation to simply turn it off, roll over, and go back to sleep might be too strong.

are you really getting good sleep? this could be a factor. You don't sound like a morning person, like me. I used to have to use 2 alarms when I had to get up that early. After being called lazy and sleepyhead for so long, I ended up getting a different job that started at 9 am, and not 730. Do you have any depression or maybe some other symptoms? This could be so many things... hard to say without more info

Get an alarm clock with a CD player and put it across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Put in a CD that you really hate so you will have to get up. Once you're out of bed, it's pretty easy to get up and start getting ready.
You are getting 9 hours of sleep a night which should be more than enough. You have to look at what you are doing that is making you so tired. Do you get enough exercise? A great way to have more energy is to exercise. Are you eating foods that might make you feel sluggish and extra tired? Try eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Good luck!

I have stuggled with this problem for a while. I have gone to bed earlier but still "just can't seem to get up " I hit the snooze button over and over the I realize I going to be late.here is somethings I have found that help me , move your alarm to another location in your room and have a friend move the time up 15 min but do have them tell you when they did,also go to bed an hour later than you do now( sounds strange but it works )hope this helps good luck

Hahh. I'm in the same situation. If theres somebody home at the time when your getting up- have them wake you up 10-20 minutes before 6 a.m. then gradually have them wake you up again about every 5 minutes. Have them do that again and again until you finally get annoyed and get out of bed. By then it will be 6 a.m. That's what my dad does! Only I get up at 5, not 6. haha..hope this solution works. :-)

Roll out of bed when the first alarm goes. Not pleasant but effective. Do not be tempted to sleep on floor....just get up. You are just not a morning person.

buy a loud alarm clock set it on the other side of the room so you will have to get out of bed to turn it off, once your up stay up and if you still need help, go to the restroom and wash your face in cold water. 6 am isn't early try 3 am.
