which one does the salt go in?

There are some conflicts on which needs more holes on the shakers. Anyway check on the holes if there is written S (salt) or P (pepper); otherwise feel free to go with the flow and do whatever suits you.♥

Salt 2 pepper 3. Pepper comes out slower so it needs more holes.

Sorry, that's backwards from what I was taught! Pepper gets the two hole shaker, so we do not drown our food accidentally with pepper.
I have a salt and pepper shaker pair labeled as such, and the pepper one has less holes.

Salt goes in the one with three holes, pepper in the other.

Salt goes into the two hole since it pours faster than pepper.

Salt pours out faster therefore requires less holes.
