I have problems trying to date men and meeting men. I am shy so meeting men in bars is outta the question. So then I am on a few dating sites and all the men I meet off of these sites seem to be very strange. I was just wondering is there another way to meet men? Are there any normal ones out there? And do you have any tips for making a date go smooth?

It's hard to answer this without knowing your age... try going back to college or going to different places. The older you are, the less you're around single people, so you have to work harder. Make yourself more available and flirt a lot. Have a friend help you practicing flirting. Good luck.

How old are you?
You have to put yourself around single people whose interests are similar to yours. It's true that the older you are, the harder single people are to find. On the other hand, the older you are, the more specific your interests (if you're doing it right) so if you manage to find some single men through an organization that's important to you, the likelihood of a match might be much stronger.
So what are your interests? Is religion important to you? Then join some organizations where you'll find single men of your faith. Are you interested in any particular subjects? Take a class in them. Volunteer, but only if you're really interested. Do you not know who you are and what your goals are? That could be a problem, because men who are centered and focused often are looking for women who know who they are and what they want, so the good ones could be passing you by.
Each age brings its own problems, but with some perseverence you should be able to find someone. While you're waiting to meet Mr. Right you could read KEEPING THE LOVE YOU FIND by Harville Hendrix. This will make you ready to have a strong, lasting union when you do find someone.

I wish I could tell you something good,but I'm in the same boat I'm a very shy guy I've done thesame meet very strange people over the internet. the only positive thing I can say is " hold on when the time is right that someone will find you" good luck sorry I can not be any more help

Two thoughts.
First, guys are guys. We aren't that hard to understand if you know what drives us. Check out www.askmen.com. You can learn a lot about guys by reading what they read and say.
Second, some good places to meet guys are where they go to meet girls. Church, libraries, class, parties, malls, etc. Your best bet is to get involved in activities with guys. Co-ed softball or other sports, karate class (no kidding), the gym, etc.
The real answer to meeting and understanding guys is being around them. Look for opportunities.

for one girl your going about it the wrong way, you shouldn;t be looking for a guy in bars, that's the worst plce to look, all there is there is dogs and you don't need that, your better than that ,you gotta realize that. there are normal guys out there, maybe the one's you should be lokking for are ones like you (a shy guy) that sounds more of your type, try it you might find mister right cuz a shy guy could be thinking the same thoughts like you and if you two get together you could probrably hiy if off, try it and good luck!!!!!!!

i don't think it is you or me.. those men on the dating sights say they want to find love but.. it sure does not take them long to start asking personal questions. Hard to tell if they are telling the truth and being honest or if they are drunk or on drugs.. lol
