If you are judging a person for anything other than their character then you are wrong. I teach my children everyday that they should get to know a person before they pass judgment on them. You never know what kind of personal issues or life struggles that person may have. Also when you judge someone you are putting yourself on a pedestal above them, but there are things in your own life that you are not proud of, none of us are better than the other. When I was a child and I made fun of someone my mother would put empathy in my heart by making me do something nice for that person. She would always say "There, but for the grace of God, go I." That means if it was not for God's blessings she could also be in that person's predicament. Now when I find myself passing judgment on a person for whatever reason, I stop myself and then try to be extra nice to them because more than likely they have to deal with negativity often. You never know what a smile or a few kind words can do for a person.

Yes it is just as wrong. Discrimination is discrimination, it doesn't matter if it is because of skin color, weight, age, gender, sexual preference, religion, hair color, eye color, shirt color, whatever. It is all the same, and it is all wrong. My stepdad is a blue collar worker and he looks like one. He went to the jewelry store to buy my mom a birthday present and no one wanted to help him until finally the rest of the customers had been helped. The Lady who waited on him brought out low end jewelry. He paid 10,000.00 cash for a ring that day. He owns a succesful business. Do you think that sales lady felt stupid for judging him? I hope so. Also people who say that weight is a reflection of lifestyle are just as guilty. How do you know that person doesn't have a medical condition as there are medical conditions that do cause you to gain weight. Maybe the person just had a baby. Maybe they are on some sort of prescription meds because they can cause weight gain. Some people, believe it or not, excercise and diet and do whatever they can and still can't seem to lose weight. To make judgement against heavy people regardless of the circumstances is just plain ignorant.

The Bible has always challenged me when it comes to "judging" others. Here's some NT allusions:
Christ Jesus himself said it is not his place (or ours) to judge others.
Don't cast your pearls before swine.
If (this town) does not accept your gospel message (to me, that means any kind of deep conviction), shake the sand out of your sandals and continue on to the next town.
I'm not about to "convince" a non-Christian that he's missed the whole meaning of life based on my values. How can I hope to know that? This attitude (of convincing nonbelievers) seems overbearing. Yet, I'd be the first to tell a coworker or friend that french fries are likely the worst possible product to eat, esp. if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes/heart disease..
My beliefs and my eating habits have been grounds to adandon the relationship. However, I lack any feedback from the fleeing party, thus I can only guess which items of knowledge drove a wedge into the possibility of relating.

Judging other people is wrong; judging them based on anything relating to the body is worse.
Universal morality in almost all societies stipulate that each man should judge himself, and show love and respect to all human beings.

Well, "judge" is a strong word. If you must use that word, then yes, it's absolutely wrong.
But skin color and weight ARE different. Weight is related to health. It is generally considered better to be healthy. Wouldn't you rather be 50 pounds lighter than 50 pounds heavier? So there's your answer.
So many of these questions would answer themselves if people actually asked themselves, "are these things I think fall into the same category REALLY similar?" An example: Sick of the male/female double standard regarding sex? Women and men are different. Sex for a man isn't half as risky as it is for a woman. For her it is wreckless to be overly-promiscuous. For him, he just has to worry about STDs.
Again, if one is honest about making comparisons, then we would realize that a lot of these natural occurences happen for a reason.

Yes its wrong!
I am a manager of a international company and some fellow managers looked down on me until I lost 70 pounds in 7 months and now they want my advice on problems they are having with business.
It seems that the more you weigh the less people want your advice.

Yes, it is just as wrong. What some people don't realize is that judging someone based on outward appearnce is just plain dumb. If these narrow-minded people were to leave their small boxes and enter a world where they were the minority they would understand how dumb they are.

Well they do it to fat and thin people, regardless it's wrong. At the same time if you go about looking like a slob or wearing something to attract attention, then you will get the attention, good or bad. People make assumptions based on appearances whether we like it or not.

There isn't. We see people as men women and children. ...we Don't see skin color. The generation that still sees color will die out soon.
