try to cut down on the coke intake-i know this can be hard. caffeine and sugar not only effect teeth but your organs as well.

for example-caffeine speeds up your heartrate, making your heart pump faster which in turn raises your blood pressure. if you are drinking alot of caffeine throughout the day-your heart is getting more of a workout than it needs.

sugar can also cause unwanted weight gain.

as far as your teeth go..
-drink your soda through a straw-this will help the liquid bypass getting in between your teeth and breaking down the enamel.
-make sure to brush a minimum of 3 times a day
-floss at least once a day
-rinse your mouth out with water after finishing the soda if you are unable to brush
-make sure to see the dentist once every 6 months and ask about getting the special sealant put on them to protect them from cavities

water is the best thing for you but i know most of us out there don't drink as much as we should (me included). and on the occasion-we need that quick "pick me up" that the caffeine in soda provides.

if you can't stop drinking the coke-at least try stepping down to diet. i didn't think i would be able to but that was 2 years ago and i can't stand regular soda now. coke makes their diet with splenda so it doesn't taste too different.

I worked as a dental assistant, and the best thing to do is to drink from a straw and floss and brush regularly. As time goes by, you might see your teeth get a yellowish shade, but if you brush regularly with a fluoride toothpaste and whitening agent you shouldnt have to worry about stains or decay. Sometimes regular brushing and flossing don't always stop the staining, so if you want white teeth, bleaching at your dentist's office will last for a few months, but for a less expense touch up, Crest whitestripes work great.

Well, it just don't work that way!
Standard coke = sugar and acid = decay and erosion
Diet Coke = acid = erosion
Water = healthy teeth
What a shame it would be if you damaged your beautiful teeth. It's your choice. There is no magic cure for damaged teeth. And a straw is not going to make any significant difference... unless you drink it up thru your nose!

Well first of all, try not to drink as much coke. When you do, I agree to try to use a straw (carry them in your glove box). If possible, and this does make a difference, rinse your mouth out really well with water after you drink a can of coke, it's annoying, but worth it.

Fizzy drinks should be curtailed. Secondly, switch over to herbal toothpaste for daily use and fluoride toothpaste 2-3 times a week.

Go to the dentist and have your teeth cleaned and coated. There is a coating that can protect teeth. Keep them nice!

My dentist told me that if I must drink Coke (and I must!) then I should always use a straw.

WHAT DESTROYS TEETH FROM COLA, COKE, PEPSI, ETC. IS THE PHOSPHORIC ACID IN COLA, NOT THE CAFFEINE OR SUGAR,THOUGH TOO MUCH OF THESE IS HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH.
USING A STRAW WILL SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE TOOTH EXPOSURE TO THE ACID.
