Those people are hypocrites. We need to show Christ's love to homosexuals just as we show love to other sinners.

Xavier M,
Well, being a Bisexual Christian, I have some agreement with you, and some disagreements.
"In our local paper this week was a big article about how gays are being kicked out of churches all over America."
Good riddance. I mean for the Gays. They didn't need to hang around with people who think themselves righteous. Those churches are as the Pharisees of Jesus' time. So gather together in His name and that's a real church anyway.
Those that are trying to be Catholic, they knew what they were getting into. So Catholocism is exposed as self righteous, what else is new? lol. F~ck the RCC and the Pope. And F' the self righteous fundies, they don't know the true Gospel message anyway. They don't prech the Gospel, they preach works. Not faith.
"The reason...they do not follow the word of god."
I guess that it depends on who you mean by 'they.' I just said that they didn't do it right.
"In the teachings of Jesus, anyone who obtains a divorce and marries another is in adulterer.
Adultery is one of the BIG TEN written in stone by gods own finger (gay didn't make the top 10)"
Right. But a sin is a sin. Top ten doesn't matter. We can't convince that we are right when we are doing wrong. And we ALL do wrong. Gay, Bi, Straight, or other. It's all about trusting God and believing in the Resurrection anyway.
"Are you going to start kicking out people who have married divorced people cause they do not follow the word of god?
Or will this be yet another case of Christian Hypocrisy?"
Not me. But then, I am not a pastor!
I look at myself a hopelessly sinful. That's the way all those others need to look at themselves. But the pendulum is not swinging that way.
But here you see, this is different with me. I am not trying to change them, I have a relationship with God, and they have eachother. I win!

Sounds like it to me! But, these are the same people who ignore the civil rights of gays and lesbians by denying the right to marry. If two people love each other, are committed to each other, and want to have a family, so be it! (oh, as they say, "AMEN!"). The big question is this; Is Jesus more likely to fall on the side of love and justice, or prejudice and fear? Don't worry about getting kicked out-- there are plenty of gay, or gay-friendly, churches out there.

Homosexuals are not kicked out of all churches. They are kicked out of some churches.
Churches are places for sinners. Anyone kicking any sinner out of church who wants to be there to worship is an offense to God.
Do not worry, my friend: Those who are acting holier-than-thou will get what's coming to them too. God's justice is perfect and will never fail, and many who think they are among his favorites are not.
You can hate Christian hypocrisy all you like, but why reserve it for Christians? Hypocrisy in any person is unappealing.
And why go attack all for the actions of some? Is that not a little hasty and shabbily thought out?

I have no issue with gays at all and support their right to marriage and the adoption of children. Sperm donorship I am not so certain about; I might be okay with the situation between Melissa Etheridge where they knew David Crosby as a personal friend and he saw the children on a regular basis. It is less cold and no financial transaction was involved. Then again, it is better than using someone for sex, not that I blame lesbians for it.

As a "holiday church goer" - as that is what people who rarely attend church are termed - and a Pagan I do not believe that God is/ can be truly housed within that four walls of a building. Religion is more of state of mind shared by a group of people (even if that group is composed of one). And, the beliefs held dear by that religions practitioners will not deminish or demolish just because a majority of practitioners disagree with the minority.

not all churches dont let gay people in there church. actully a lot of jobs restrict it. and im guessing its the same as divorce, and people still get divorced. if ur gay,ur gay. u cant change that. they cant become straight and people whos husbands r abusing them cant stay in the relentionship. if u believe in God and the Lord, thats all that matters. not some hyprocritical church.

My Church, the original Christian Church, does not "kick out" anyone - but those openly involved in illegitimate sexual relationships, either homosexual or heterosexual, are excluded from the sacraments of the Church until such time as their situation is brought into conformity with the Law of God.

because those who aren't "true" Christians (i.e., bigots who use religion to justify themselves. none of my "real" Christian friends are like this) pick and choose and re-translate Bible verse to suit their own biased/ignorant/hateful opinions.
just like they keep telling those of us who are fighting for the right to marry that it's reserved for man and a woman, so that they can produce children. so, should straight people who are barren be banned from marrying? or people who don't want kids? or, widowers who are past child-bearing age and want to get married (like my mother did) because they can't have more kids?
how can we tarnish the sanctity of marriage any more than those who get divorced and remarried numerous times? cheat on their spouses? abuse their spouse and/or children? how could we possibly do any worse than that?

What paper are you reading? I have never heard of someone "kicked out" of their church for being homosexual. Only that Churches which accept the authority of scripture refuse to legitimize their lifestyle. And the same goes for adultery and always has.

Obviously Christian Hypocrisy - but I don't feel it's right to call it "Christian." It's "Fundie" Hypocrisy. There are still SOME Christians out there who don’t adhere to such arrogance, hate, pride, ignorance, etc.
