Bingo! Copernicus made the world realize that it was not at the physical center of the universe, but the religious world still thinks we are the spiritual center. If not one, why the other? We need a spritual Copernicus to dethrone us from that delusion, as well. The notion that we are the reason that this entire humongous universe exists is the greatest self-congratulatory arrogance imaginable.

Thats an arrogant question, to assume you cover all issues and see these two options from the right angle, and as the only ones in the universe !
And its arrogant of people to answer as either one of these two options. Its so off track !!!
The purpose for God's creating the universe is not for MY existence, that is arrogant and misrepresentation of what christianity is about !!! and yet, still, there IS a higher purpose in life than just consuming products, whether you're christian or not !
Also, it is arrogant to rule out the existence of God and a spiritual realm, just because you don't feel like considering the possibility of it, and closed-minded to the proof and life experiences so many people have had with it !

You know how when you see an incident of any kind whether it be a shooting, tornado, eartquake, terrorist attack etc etc, the survivors always say "god was looking after us" That is so arrogant. To state that god loves only some people but not others. I once saw a program on t.v. about the war in Vietnam. There was one guy who was in the middle of a battle were almost every one in his group was killed. After the battle he looked up and in the middle of all the destruction he saw some metal from a building that had been bombed that had ended up somewhat resebling a cross. He said that he knew that god was looking out for him. That is arrogant. To thing that he was so special that god saved him and let all these other men, women, and children die. Pisses me off

Well, if God is omnipotent and omniscient, then it is reasonable to say that every particle and every living being in the universe is equally special and loved by God, and that it all has a special purpose. Just because we are incapable of focusing our complete attention on only one thing at a time doesn't mean God isn't. I don't think the theists are arrogant at all if you look at it from that standpoint.
By the way, as a Jew I am SO F***ING SICK of people on this forum thinking that the world is divided into Christians and Atheists! I mean, really, there are more Hindus out there than either one, and that's not even scratching the surface of world religions! Get your heads out of your a**es, people!

There are atheists and Christians who are both arrogant. There are also others who are more pleasant to be around. One belief is not more arrogant than the other, only how you share your belief with others.

To say that any group is arrogant because one group believes in a supreme being and the other one nothing is judgmental and intolerant within itself. Its nothing wrong in what they see is true to themselves but these groups need to stop opposing or trying to convert another and show respect and tolerance for a better world. *(*

you're literally not boastful in any respect (in holding with this information considering that i comprehend no longer something about your personality), that's basically that maximum of those those who declare to be Christian are so quick to be offended with those who've diverse beliefs. i'm a Christian who respects anybody and understand their properly to count on what they want. the first change gave us the right freedom of religion to boot as freedom FROM faith, and picking the latter isn't conceitedness, that's purely a utilization of a properly it really is used properly.

I don't think either choice is arrogant, it's free will. Make a decision and stand by it. Let others do the same. Someday we will all find out what this life means.

On this forum both are being pretty arrogant. They almost mirror each other sometimes. It's odd. It's like you can see two sides of the exact same coin.
