I had my other one done at about six months and it seemed to change her. She became aggressive and snappy.
Some say wait until she has been on heat before taking her to the Vet for the operation.

You need to discuss this with your veterinarian. Some vets prefer to do it before they come into heat. There are major health benefits to spaying before a heat cycle. Some dogs are better candidates for waiting until after their first heat cycle (provided that they are watched extremely closely during that time so they do not get bred). Discuss your concerns with your vet and together you can set up a plan.

I strongly encourage owners to have their pets spayed before their first heat cycle. It reduces the risk of mammary tumors to less than 1% which is a big deal. Spaying a dog/cat before the second heat cycle reduces the risk to about 8% and before the third heat cycle reduces the risk by about 24%. Spaying the pet after the third heat cycle has no effects on reducing mammary cancer. The age of spaying a pet does not determine their personality or aggression level. And don't listen to the old school thoughts on having a litter of pups before spaying your dog. There are millions of unwanted animals euthanized every year...why add to that number?

I have a Yorkie and my vet has recommended that I have her spayed between 4 and 6 months. I have scheduled her for surgery in December at 5 months old. I have always heard that a dogs personality would changed if spayed once she has gone in heat. I don't know this to be factual just something I've heard.

The size of the dog can mean that the age varies... Some vets offer a reduced price the younger the dog... Some will tell you the dog cannot be spayed until after their first season... As with puberty in humans this can vary.
Although I advocate always consult your dogs vet!!

Every dog will react different. I spayed my Border Collie when she was 6 years old. She stayed the same. I spayed my blue heeler pups when they were 6 months and they stayed the same. I've heard my different stories but I have never had a dog turn mean after being spayed.

I have heard the earlier the better. My little girl was done at less than three months. I got her at just over a year old. She is now 11.5 years, going strong, and completely sweet, even with her adopted son, a rescued lab mix of two, and little human children.
So, I do think earlier, before first heat is best.

I think 5 months is the best time, then they haven't had any hormal influences... Plus you won't have to worry about the bleeding associated with the heat, or the neigborhood dogs ripping down your fence to get her!

After their fist heat is normal. you were a little early, but this does not account for the behavior. Is there a chance she was mistreated somewhere somehow? Train this behavior out of her fast. Good luck

You are saying little. Is it a small dog? If it is a small dog my vet told me 6 months.

First of all, how old is the litle *****? As for the first ***** that you spayed, I believe all animals that get spayed get aggressive. It will take time.
